thebullet has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
BRSCC Ford Saloon Car Championship 2008

The 2008 calender is at the following link:

http://www.fordracinguk.com/Calendar2008.htm

Including the return to Donington Park and Mallory Park.

Any ideas of the drivers entry list for 2008 yet?

Cheers

I would expect it to be much the same as last year. Not many other places to race those cars in a national capacity with TV coverage.

If Rod wanted to race in Fords then I'm sure he can. There is a special class for cars that don't me the requirments of the existing classes.

I have done half a season of Mod Ford without Registering or Being a Brscc Member. One of them races was a Snett and i recall an Aussie Touring car Ford Falcon being out with us and it sure as hell wasn't on the listed tyre! If anyone wants a go in MFSCC they can talk to Shortis then I am sure something can be arranged. If you got a Ford you can run in MFSCC. Its as simple as that.

Brilliant can i quote you,so according to you we can do ford mod saloons with out being a member of brscc or paying a reg.fee also we can use any old tyres we like,if you can sort this i will split the saving with you, didnt work like this last season,i am sure the 40 odd entrants from last season will also like to use your system, please contact when you have arranged it.
regards vaughan

the profile of ford mod saloons has progressed in the last ten years, big grids, tv,most cars are modified, the group 1 cars that raced seem to have moved on. The scrutineer now checks the make of tyres to see that they have dunlop stamped on them. i dont think what might have normal some years ago happens now. I must admit some years ago,in my case many years ago! i did a whole seasons racing with the brscc when i was only an ordinary member, not a racing member. Also members of other clubs ie barc etc could race at other clubs meetings providing their club was rac registered, this facility might have been ok some years ago. It does not happen now membership cards are checked at at signing on,all brscc championships have membership as a entry qualification.

The 40 odd entrants are doing the championship. You was talking about one round at Lydden! To be frank Vaughan i don't give a toss weather you beleive me or not. Thats what happened. And i dare say, if you spoke to Kevin Shortis, he would make the exception again. I recomend you turn you attitude down before you try it though.

kelvin i dont not believe you, the fact is the organisation has changed, the days of rsoc are gone, the organisation is kevin shortis/brscc all championship reg.fees are paid to kevin shortis,membership/entry fees to brscc. i like your system better, from experience it does not seem to exsist anymore. basically it would appear that competitors pay kevin shortis to run the championships. It would be fairly to put the co-ordinator registration fee on the entry perhaps, because if you only do a couple of rounds it works out expensive per race,ie 280/290 pounds in total.

i would possible do a few rounds

but my car can not run the dunlop do1j control tyres as they dont make my size

it runs dunlop 290/640/17 slicks/wets allround

australian ford falcon v8

i am member of brscc but would not wont to fork out a big reg fee just to do a couple of rounds

do they not have a few like LMA do for pay as you go reg fee

think there was £20 per race

p.s not heard of any other falcons raceing in any of the ford saloon car races.
when was it?
