Can't help but think that destruction of front aero nose wings might become self policing. Wreck a nose and it immediately renders you uncompetitive. Maybe the owners might start billing/deducting costs to the drivers, boy, now that would get their attention! Hit 'em in the pocketbook. The days of Dallara battering rams are over.

I just finished watching the race and that went flawlessly as expected.

The aero kits are useless. Because the nose cone, driver cell and air box are all the same, I can't tell the difference unless it's a closeup. The Chevy front wing is kind of cool when the antenna get knocked off.

You can't argue that the Indycar racing, for the most part, has been both close and competitive for the last couple of seasons. However, there is an old saying in the South; "No matter how pretty you dress a dead pig, it's still a dead pig." Aero kits notwithstanding, the Dallara is still a dead pig!

Discussions have begun on the 2018 replacement for the DW12.

Let me be the first to make this prediction: there will be a search. Some intriguing designs will be proposed, along with something wacky like the original Delta Wing concept, and a dead-boring entry from Dallara. After some months of radio silence, IndyCar will announce the new chassis.

It will be the Dallara.

File this one away for a couple of years and let's see if I'm right or not.
