The last model mondeo is a good car and by all acounts this new one is better so you should be in for a treat...

In the UK at least they are going to have the 2.5l 5 cylinder that's used in the Focus ST.

Yep, here in Australia I can see all those XR8 owners rushing to the Ford dealers to trade in their boat towing V8's and signing up for 2.5 litre 5 cylinder Mondeo's!!!

That is why the Euro and Australian markets or so very very different!

For me it all comes down to pricing and marketing. I think Ford should be able to bring the Mondeo in for a competitive price against the more premium cars (Honda Accord, Mazda 6, Subaru) but I would be surprised to see them match the Toyota Camry and new Holden Epica. The hardest obstacle will be making buyers consider the car, given Ford has been away from the market so long and the previous Mondeo flopped (first gen car and facelift, we did not have the 2nd gen car out here)
