This may be a dumb question, but I appear to have missed something.

Why aren't Team Halfords and their drivers scoring independent points this year?

I was slacking on my research. What do I care about them northern borders anyway - it's very close though. By the time you read this, it'll be fixed and you'll just look crazy anyway.

Not sure if 'excluded' is the right word, but I believe they're judged / or have stated themselves they are benefitting from too much Honda assistance to be classed as Indies.

But not enough to register as manufacturers?

Whilst BMW have only provided WSR with two brand spanking new 320's.

Oh well.

WSR have bought them from BMW, and paid for extra technical assistance. (which is available to all BMW Independants)

From what was said at the launch, BMW would provided tech support for testing and the 1st three races only.

However Honda haven't paid the manufacturers entry fee, hence they are not eligible for either title. Does make me wonder if there might not be a factory Honda effort run by Dynamics coming in a year or two...

Can anyone tell me the exact circuit configuration the BTCC will use?

Alan Gow mentions that they will be using the whole of Turn 1 this time (No Chicane) but I could do with a definative track layout

They've corrected it from the earlier version but it's still not quite right. Turn one is the banked version, not the chicane.

Race schedule is here - they're taking a gamble on Rockingham's car parking facilities by putting the 3rd BTCC race last on the bill!

Free TV coverage is currently scheduled as:
  • Highlights and race 3 live - ITV3 1600-1730
  • Highlights - ITV1 0115-0145

i reckon taking out the first chicane may reduce in less overtaking. though it'd be great to see touring cars go round an oval bend lol

I think the Rock will suit the BeeEmms more than Brands did, I reckon CT and MJ will be fighting for the win.

It should mean they reach the Deane hairpin that little bit quicker and maybe more tightly bunched, which could prove to be interesting.

Then I give Mike Jordan and Jason Plato the edge as they have both done the "Real Rockingham", and taken Turn 1/2/3/4 properly!!!

Not sure where I'm going to perch for this one. Might go for T1 grandstand. Might go for T4. I agree that there will be an interesting first few laps into Deene.

Me, I'll be happier the week after. I'll be doing T1/T2/T3/T4 in Europe's fastest saloon racing series.
