Steve Burns should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
2004 TraXperience events

Following the success of 2003, BRSCC TraXperience are again organising several track days during 2004 at a variety of venues. The following dates have already been confirmed with bookings now being taken.

Saturday 27th March - Donington Park (98dBA drive by test)
Friday 16th April - Croft (105dBA static test)
Monday 26th April - Castle Combe (100dBA static test)
Thursday 29th April - Croft (105dBA static test)
Saturday 22nd May - Donington Park (98dBA drive by test)

Costs for all of the above dates is £149 for BRSCC members and £159 for non-members if booked in advance. The Castle Combe and Croft dates will operate groups of 10-15 minute sessions rotating throughout the day, with the Donington Park dates featuring an open pit lane format.

The Donington Park and Croft dates will also feature sessions for single-seaters.

Interesting post about track days that allow single seaters. But the noise limits are too low for most single seaters. We did a recent day at Goodwood in a Formula Renault, which really cannot be called a noisy car and had to put a road car exhaust and a muffler on it to get close to 105dB. Even the FF1600 were failing.
When will the motor sport fraternity stand up to this nimby rubbish. Donnington Park is next to a very busy airport and the last time we were noise tested there they had to stop the test as a jet flew over...
I am not having a go at you Steve Burns but this constant noise limit reduction really gets on my wick. The last time I went on a track day, a guy with a 996 carerra with a porsche sports exhaust - totally road legal and an option from new failed the noise test. That really has to be absurd.

There must be hundreds on here who agree with kickstart concerning the noise limits. who actually sets the limits at the tracks ?

All permanent motor sport venues require full planning permission for all activities. The number of days usage and noise level varies between venues but in all cases is set by the local council environmental health department.

We 'petrol heads' must remember that driving cars round in circles quickly is not to everyones taste and these planning restrictions are in place for the benefit of the whole community.
