Figure of eight tracks are not speedways according to the ISC.
There must be 4 or less corners all in the same direction. One is left, 1 is right. |

Sorry to dredge, but here's an "oval" with a crossover that I think would be vaguely allowed in some sense - corners of 270, 135, 180, and 135 degrees:
