I thought Chevy was using RCR's R07 block.
Not sure why you call the R07 RCR's Kelv, it was developed by Jim Covey's team at GM racing. details here http://www.racecar-engineering.com/a...rolet-r07.html

RCR, Hendrick and some others all do thier own versions of it. But all the blocks are made over here in Shropshire! I don't think the R07 is much of a relation to any road car unit

So Ford, Chevy Toyota and Dodge make the engine, and then the teams modify them to suit them? Is that what makes the difference between a RCR engine and a Hendrick engine for example?

Yes exactly. Chevy will design the engine - say the R07. The blocks ad s few other parts must be as per the spec but pretty much everything else is done in house by the teams. Its not modification its building from scratch and they build hundreds of the things. What RCR do with the R07 and what Hendrick do could be very different things indeed. For example Hendrick make thier own piston blanks, these will be different to what RCR use.

can't agree there, the rules can be fiendishly complex, and stable - erm CoT?? and the new fuels, and the Nationwide CoT???

NASCAR likes to keep the illusion of simple racing tractors but a Cup car is a highly highly advanced racecar some of the technology used in NASCAR is seriously cutting edge, to the point where F1 teams are going to Cup teams to find out whats going on.

OK, 'were stable, and probably will be again when they iron out the current bugs".

And F1 teams going to Cup teams to see how it's done....

Like how to change 4 wheels, and fuel a car with 22(US)gallons (two 11 gallon churns) of jollop in 14 seconds with only five guys over the wall, two nut guns, one trolley jack, and five lug nuts per wheel!!!

F1 takes 18 men 12 seconds to put 4 wheels and 80 litres of pressurised jollop into a F1 car with three men per wheel, pneumatic jacks front and rear, and centre lock wheels!

Just gotta love them good ol' boys!
