Sparky should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

...The FIA needs a new 'leader'

Who would you have take his place?

Ken Tyrell
Jackie Stewart
Sir Stirling Moss
Jody Scheckter
Phil Hill
Mario Andretti
Niki Lauda
Nelson Piquet
John Surtees
Damon Hill (!)
Derek Warwick(!!)

Any other suggestions?

Personally, I think it needs to be somebody who has actually driven an F1 car, along with most of the other series the FIA has a (strangle) hold over.

Mansell would be my choice!

C'mon! Time's ticking away...

From what i read on these boards, why dont they simply pick someone who already works for the FIA? Say, Ross Brawn

Mansell and Schecter are too cranky. Andretti is too blunt and too American. I'd pick Ken Tyrrel. But they'll want a syncophant brown-noser so how about Ron Dennis?

Sorry, but the FIA can't have Mario -

We're putting him in charge of CART!

(What about Rowan Atkinson???
His Edmund Blackadder personna would be a perfect replacement for the departing Max. And Bernie DOES look quite a bit like Baldrick.)

...AND Rowan Atkinson races cars.

And he is at home at international events and club race meetings. He knows what it's like to be a spectator peering over the fence, 'cause I've seen him.

I'll second the motion. Rowan Atkinson for president.

I think Martin Brundle could make a great contribution to the sport. He's intelligent, honest knows the sport inside-out-and-upside-down. Gerhard Berger would be good, but he's been snapped up by BMW.
Trouble is, most ex-drivers wouldn't be arsed. Not enough money, not enough excitement...
I used to think Damon Hill was a gentleman, but following his behavior last season I think he rekons that the world owes him a living.

I'm going out on a dead branch here;

Why not both? They'd corner the market on handbags and probably put on a better show than the race.

Mr. Bean for head of PR. Or chief Scrutineer.

I nominate...Rev. Al Sharpton! Or failing him, Hillary Clinton! She's looking to be in control of something.

Yes, the possible spin off's are many...

Bride of Frank 'n' Bean
Frank 'n' Bean's Monster
The return of Frank 'n' Bean

Stop it! Ya kill me...!

While we're nominating comedians, what about John Cleese? The racing would be second to the farce-like running of the whole show.
No, wait. We've already got that - the only things missing are Duck a l'orange Blancmange and a red Austin 1100.

Hopefully John Cleese would close down the Ministry of Silly Tyres!
