Alfonso de Orleans should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Euro 3000 Championship will be a strong contender next year with the Superfund backing, prize money and the live TV deals. The new car is going to be quite nice and running by the end of the year. So, be cautious and don't rule them out since they probably have the strongest package of all if GP2 does not materialize next year.

Yet they have no quality drivers or really even teams.

There was an article in BusinessF1 about the current miasma of feeder formula, and theorised that if they made the Superlicense requirements more restrictive, like they once were; you'd kill off the weaker series pretty quickly.

I agree that there aren't many good drivers...yet. But wait, after just a couple of races by the new organization, a few have started to be interested and more are about to come. Alex Lloyd recently tested there. By the way, where did Felipe Massa come from? One other point to bear in mind is the fact that International F3000 is not exactly exploding with talent at the moment. As for the superlicense, I have a feeling that it's not like it used to be when there really where too many drivers wanting to get into F1. Now there are not enough of them. Times are tough, even at the top. But times will change.

Renault should have a chat to the Euro 3000 organisers.

If they can get together, that Superfund deal, prize money and live TV could be brought across to GP2, giving a strong series rather than two weaker ones.

Contrary to some misinformation out there, GP2 will take place in 2005. It will be the category that will seperate the men from the boys. Especially at a cost of 750,000 euros per car, it's cheaper than the World Series.
