Sorry I won't be able to see you young"lads" driving round my local track in the UK as duty calls on the 4 mile stretch of watering holes further south than Brands.
Being a hard up OAP I can't afford a flight back just for this meeting but I'll be there in "spirit" (or should that be Larkins) ?

Only 6 in the FJ race when I checked the other day. As for the weather Mike, I spent last weeekend at Knockhill....Brands can't possibly dish up worse than that!

Was there a very pressing reason for such a visit Colin?

A select few FJ's held an extra-curricular race (Mrs Mac and I were there representing the fan base, not driving), we happened to be passing by after a month in the Western Isles. Looking at the weather today it looks like we got out just in time!

Ah! A month in the Western Isles is a decent excuse Colin.

Travelling from where you reside for the sole purpose of visiting the track for a specific race as a spectator would be beyond heroic. IMO.

However the locality, if one happens to be there for a few days, has much to offer. Especially East Fife.

Through the jungle telephone (it does reach southern Spain} I understand that there will be some very rapid Escorts built for this meeting.
And I thought that it only happened at Goodwood !!!!

Well, the 3 cars driven by father and sons will no doubt be quick.

As the latest weather forecast is promising heavy rain all day, I could well be watching from the garage.......

The truck will be sitting back at base on Sunday! Hardly cost effective for transporting one car for one day event..... Washing off flies that got in the way on last Sunday’s trip home is scheduled for this afternoon.....

As well as the rain predicted there is a warning out for ‘up to 45mph’ wind speed, which is really depressing. On the one day in September when bit of sun and a dry track were all I ask!

Tricky one that Mike.

The wind direction will be critical to getting the maximum straight line speed assistance it can offer for the lap time. Possibly also avoiding excess resistance of course.

Smart wing and diffuser setting could be vital.

I wonder if it would be possible (in the dry) to remove the front and rear screens on some pretext and turn the roof into an aerodynamic aid?

Lets hope the weather report is wrong. Alan from HSCC has put in a lot of effort to get this race to happen.

Exactly. We’re used to meteorologists erring on the side of caution (ever since the great storm ), so fingers crossed for this weekend, and think positive....

BBC Weather forecast is for winds of up to 40mph from the south west or west direction - almost directly behind you on the start/finish straight. Looks like the faster cars may need to start braking somewhere by the main tower with that sort of tail wind - unless someone discovers ABS was fitted in period

The crosswinds at Paddock hill could also make things interesting!
