750MC @ Snetterton

Great days racing I thought. Highlights for me were the first Formula 4 Race, the two leaders started on wets, which turned out to be the wrong decision. They got jumped for the lead, but the new leader tangled with a backmarker, I think, but in the end someone else got ahead of them. Good race though.

Second Hot Hatch race was great aswell, especially the battle at the front between the 306 and the Astra. At the start, my brother said "oh, there's only about 10 cars... ", but there was a great battle, the Astra spun off at the Esses, and was all over the track at the Esses for most laps, but passed the 306 at Russell on the last lap. Great race.

Great performance by Mike Jenvey in the Formula Vees aswell, winning from 16th on the grid.

Some photos on my site by the way, some are a bit rubbish, getting used to a new lens...

You where number 6 right? i didn't see it but was at the esses and saw the end result being loaded onto the truck.

the 7s races both days where absolutley cracking with the leader spinning on both occasions and then making up a huge gap to regain the lead but only to lose it. especially the leader of the first race who made up a gap half lap to hit the front just to spin it on the last lap at the esses!

great stuff all round both days and the noble in the 2nd roadsports race flew to beat someone as good as keith ahlers in his morgan!

Great turn out by the Vees and Stock Hatches and some entertaining racing as mentioned above, but very poor entries in the Bike Sports and 750 Formula races.

As this meeting is not listed on the MST web site and the commentary was less than usefull today, can anybody provide comparisons of the lap times for the Bike-Sports and 750 Formula. If they are close enough would it not be sensible to combine the 2 untill either series has enough competitors to make a decent grid (or is culled if not enough sign up).

I think Bike sports will steadily grow into decent numbers - after all it should be a much cheaper place to run a radical than the dedicated radical races and there are lots of clubsports and prosports around. Given the long history of the 750 formula I think the club will give it quite some time before they consider any changes.

The 750MC use HS Sports Timing as their timekeepers, not MST.

All the results will be on the 750 website (not sure how long it takes for these to be posted after the meeting) These usually show a lap by lap analysis of the times, for all classes.

what scared me was the first lap of practice - haring down the revvett and turning into the chicane and realising is was covered in mud... very worrying

That would be the tractor drivers (me included) who decided to take to the grass and start plowing.

craig, i was in session 2, wet and muddy, not very nice, and it started to rain just as we went out for race 1. Race 2 on monday was better at least it was dry...great fun though cant wait for brands hatch, we will also be running a customer car there too so that should be great fun with someone to fight with.
