Collectable Race Cars - Dreamers Inc!

Following on from the Group 'C'/Group 'A' thread.. the question was asked as to what kinds of racing cars you would *really* want in your garage!

For me... I wouldnt mind anything that was a Peter Jackson car... a Sierra or Falcon.. in its immaculate original form

Brock/Richards 1979 A9X Torana - Bathurst winner!

A fine piece of Motor Racing History.

Others.....

- Beechey Mustang
- A Moffat GTHO III
- A Brock XU1 (ATCC Winner/or Bathurst)
- Geoghan Charger

And actually I wouldnt mind the 2 x Perkins/Ingall Bathurst winners advertised. Dont know if I would pay the asking price but gee I have great memories of that win in 95!

Here in the states you can import anything over 25 years old. I heard some Group C Falcon replicas have been built and shipped over here for use on our roads.

People still talk about Paul Stubber when he brought the A9X over and it would be nice to get a V8 Supercar in country.

could never limit it to cars from australia alone, but the dream list goes something like:

Ford MK2 RS1800 works rally car (POO504 would be good)
Zakspeed ETCC Capri
Eggenberger Texaco RS500 Sierra (even thought the DJR ones ended up faster)
the BS Stillwell ex Alan Mann Racing Mk1 Escort

yeah, I know, I have a disease called small european fords, but just to confuse it all, I reckon a stark white Holden A9X, with 15 x 8 hotwires, polished alloy cage, drop tank and twin downdraught webers would be sooooo cool to have in the shed, and take out for a nice track day every now and again.

The photos on my office wall would be a good start...

Left to right:
Brock's 79 A9X
Pete Geoghan's Mustang
Frank Matich's A52
Beechey's Monaro
Jack Brabham's World Championship Winning Repco Brabham
Kevin Bartlett's Alfa GTA Jnr

Then you could add:
Moffat's Coke Mustang;
Moffats Peter Styvesant RX7;
Brock's First Bathurst Monaro;
Lowndes' Green Eyed Monster;
Bob Jane's MK II Jaguar
Brock's Day Glow VK Commodore
The Godzilla that created the Pack of #$@%&^s.

No real pattern here is there....
