Must agree with Kevin.
Having seen Liam drive Pat's cars several times he did OK.
Lets just wait and see what happens.
I hope that he has tamed the enthusiasm of youth a bit though

Welcome to Tenths Kevin.
I agree with all you say, but the last line in Spectator's post hits the nail on the head. The one thing Liam still has to do is learn to control his temper!
We all know you need bit bit of aggression to be competitive, but the real champions control and channel it. If Liam can learn to do this he has every chance of success. Good luck to him, and I hope he proves his doubters wrong, if he doesn't he will only have himself to blame.

& do you really think that after 3 or 4 seasons in the sport that he can control his temper, somehow i think not, ok i may be a doubter in Liam, but i do hope for everyones sake that he does prove us all wrong, but my doubt comes from his track record, which isn't a good one, now is it...?

I do not know a lot about Liam’s “track record”. But when reading this topic I understand a lot of you don’t think Liam is mature enough to drive a D1/Supercar. You may be right, but I think sometimes stepping up with the “big boys” have a calming effect to the well, let’s say the overenthusiastic drivers. He knows all eye’s are on the D1/Supercar drivers, he know that he drives a legendary car, he know what it cost to repair his car! So I agree with Kevin McCann. Give the lad a chance and be happy that the entry list is growing.

Another point is that the car is in better shape now than when Pat sold it, GT spent ££££ on it including having it "re-tubbed" at Julian Godfreys.

I have to agree with Kevin,
Liam has driven the Fiesta Supercar before (I watched him last year at a Lydden track day) and he was going well.
I think people on here are too quick to judge him, his RWD Fiesta apparently was a bit of a pig to drive and we did all see improvement towards the end of the season when the car was tweaked.
And from a spectators point of View, Pats son on his home track in the RS200 is definately a spectator puller
2 supercars in the same livery will look smart too.
I just look forward to seeing another new supercar driver being added to the sport.
Bring on Lyddden I say, I think it will be interesting

He didn't have the greatest of ends to the year though. plowing it into both Michael Boaks TT in BRDA superprix and the tirewall at the ROC superprix.

Age

Didnt nearly everybody doubt the ability of putting a certain YOUNG Andrew Jordan in a Div 1 car, and he made them eat Dust. And when Grant came out at Pembrey in the 6R4 they were all saying it was like giving a machine gun to a m--k-y but look what happened. Ok Liam is a little ?? more hot headed but give him a chance.

Having been a 'Rookie' in the Supercars myself - I applaud anyone with the B@**s to have a go!

Good luck Liam, I know I'm jealous of you being able take out the RS, and having raced an uncontrolable beast, my only advise is to drive with your head and not right foot (to begin with) and get to the end of the two days with a car in one piece and a large smile on your face.

Look forward to catching up with everyone at Lydden.

Sue

I take my hat off to Liam after todays performance, superb debut and quickest time of the weekend overall in the heats, I was pleasently surprised how well the RS200 was driven.
