New F3000 team
In Autosport (6th September) there is an advert in the classified appointments section asking for personnel required to run an F3000 team. Does anyone know anything about this? Who is starting a new F3000 team? Or is an existing one moving to Norfolk? Any comments Paddock Spy??

It could be Fortec, but look at the bottom of the add:
"http://ww4.infoxpress.com/haymarket/autosportbg/buyersguides/bg1/listing3.asp?l=5060" It says this: Please send CV stating current salary details (with Photo if possible) to the following address: PO Box 1038 Address: 38-42 Hampton Road Teddington, Middlesex TW11 9AE United Kingdom But on Fortec Website, they give this for an address: You can find Fortec at: Alvis Way Royal Oak Industrial Estate Daventry Northants NN11 5PG |

The address in Teddington is that of Haymarket's direct mail centre. No interesting insights in that.

Maybe for Carlin Motorsport, with Sato & Davidson in F3000 next year?
Just a guess. Or McLaren returs in F3000, with Garry Paffet as possible driver. |

New Team
It's Autosport!,I'm not joking because I checked up with Lola and they told me that it's AUTOSPORT! This would probably explain why it's advetising for most postions.

Autosport somtimes act as a post box for large teams wanting to hide their identity. F1 teams use it alot.

Just a thought, but it could be Jaguar. Jaguar have asked Carlin to run there F3 team so will Jag run a F3000 team with Sato?
It makes more sence to have a F1 and F3000 team. |

It will be a completely new team - with a South American influence. Oh, and Fortec have been trying to sell that stuff in Autosport for some time. It is the spare chassis/transporters they no longer need. |

No big secret here! I would have thought that f3000.net would have told you all this last week - being the man with his finger on the pulse. The new team is being set-up by the manager of Pizzonia, a Brazilian called Jayme Brito. The only real thing of value with this is that it may well be the Petrobras team under a new name. Any comments f3000.net?

On the other hand, Paddock Spy, you are clearly someone who reads Motorsport News...or perhaps you (deleted bit which might identify Paddock Spy). Anyway I would have thought the story about Pizzonia going to drive for this new team, even if it is run by his manager, is well wide of the mark...but I can't say why without revealing confidential information about who will be driving where next season. |

A Brazilian driver manager is putting together a team for next year's F3k Championship.
Jayme Brito, who manages Antonio Pizzonia, is advertising for equipment and personnel. The team is based in Norfolk. Brito is understood to have courted Brazilian oil giant Petrobras as a sponsor. The firm are already the title sponsor to the Williams junoir team, which Pizzonia drives for. He is expected to remain with them for 2002. This is from the Spetember 13 2001 issue of Autosport magazine. Last edited by Speedworx; 13 Sep 2001 at 20:09. |
