CSCC:

April 2/3 Snetterton 300
April 23/24 Thruxton
May 14/15 Anglesey Coastal (Double Header)
June 3/4 Brands Hatch Indy
June 23/26 Spa
July 16/17 Castle Combe
August 29 Oulton Park International
September 10/11 Donington Park National
October 8/9 Silverstone National

October 29 Cadwell Park

So, not hugely different from this year, though Anglesey, Brands and Silverstone are on different layouts next year.

Apparently the new GB4 single seater Series will have its opening round with CSCC at Snetterton.

I'm sure the grids will be as full as ever - not sure whether I'll be able to join them, though......

Alan Morgan answered before me, he's a long time customer of HVM Racing (not to be confused with a team).

If you're tempted, no hesitation drop me a message with the date/place and type of car you'd like to enter.

HVM Racing France organises the Motors Cup's!too but dates are TBA at this moment. I guess Alan M will know before me!

Please dont forget, the hotels are not easy to book and few are at the door of the track you like to visit! Just back from a very bad experience with an horrible B&B near Ledenon (Nîmes).

Cheers.

Thanks Alan and Gerard. I have penciled the Historic Tour events into my provisional calendar. The Lotus Elite seems eligible. You may remember I had a thread on what race car I should buy. I have purchased Mk1 Escort RS1600 ( as delta kindly describes it ....a recreation RS1600). The Escort also seems eligible.

You're welcome, drbob. Really. No doubt a Mk1 Escort is eligible in many events/series.

Should you like to race either your Elite and/or Escort, feel free to drop a PM, will answer with pleasure and point you in the right direction. Will teach the official speaker about car/owner/driver.

Chose the track and… bob, you're my uncle!!!

Very Southern-centric calendar, though - Oulton only for the Jack Sears series, and no Anglesey, Cadwell, Croft or, perish the thought, Knockhill

French Calendar Update

Latest update from Formula Ford Historic France for the "Forecast" 2022 Calendar adds two dates:

20/22 May: Grand Prix de Pau Historique (Pau)
17-19 June: Grand Prix de France Historique (Paul Ricard, Le Castellet)

The Historic FF1600 event at Le Castellet this year was very well supported with a 50-60 car entry, all racing on a single grid, but it can be (and was!) very hot at Le Castellet in June. I was really surprised and pleased to see the Pau date appear. I thought we were not going to get further racing opportunities there. I don't know what other categories are scheduled to race at Pau.

It isn't quite clear if the two Calendar additions are part of the French Historic Championship, I'm trying to find out. If they are part of the championship that would mean it will be 8 events/16 races with a big gap mid June to early September.

The other French Championship for 67-92 FF1600s + FF Zetecs usually shares the same dates as the French Historic Formula Fords, but I suspect it may not include Pau in 2022. It also continues to show a provisional event at Spa sometime after mid June, but this may just be a "syncing" issue.

Richard, you forgot to mention that CSCC is also getting some elements of its 2023 calendar in place! Dates at Daytona and Sebring in November 2023 to help celebrate CSCC’s 20th anniversary.
(Can’t see me making that trip, this side of a lottery win, though!)

The Swedish historic championship:

May 20-22: Kinnekulle Ring
June 17-19: Gelleråsen (Karlskoga)
July 1-3: Ring Knutstorp
August 26-28: Scandinavian Raceway (Anderstorp)
September 16-18: Falkenberg

New for 2022 is that, for the first time in many years, we will race at the ex-Grand Prix circuit at Anderstorp.

Races are open to all historic cars adhering to Appendix K and with an FIA HTP or a corrsponding national VIF (subject to the approval of the organizing club, so check first). The car will also need a silencer.

Hi Simon. To say the least its a little bit confusing atm. Not talking about rumors.

I think the Historic Tour will go not go to Pau this year. If this meeting is held it wont be part of the French Championship just because HVM is the official organiser for any event of this calendar.
And yes you're right there is a gap between June and September.

As to Trophée FF Kent Zetec, nothing about Pau and Castellet on the provisional calendar.

As you say, both Pau and Castellet are part of the Formula Ford Historic France calendar ATM and forms can be downloaded via the website. What is clear is that those two meetings are not part of the Historic Tour. May be Régis knows more.
If some french grids go to Spa (I only see an opportunity during the Summer Classic) it wont be an addition to the official championship either.

Agreed again, there's a huge gap but financial wise its good for amateurs not mentioning there's time to refurbish the damaged cars!

Spa was on the cards for this season, but didn't happen. Personally I would very much like a run there in 2022. It's my favourite race track by some margin. I know that French FF1600s have previously run there in the Summer Classic with Roadbook so it could be a possibility.

This season I originally thought the French Historic Grand Prix at Paul Ricard was not scheduled to be part of the Historic FF1600 Championship, but it ended up in the points table...

Despite this sort of confusion, I wish more UK Race Organising Clubs would publish calendars earlier. It makes competition, travel and other planning much easier. Some Clubs - CSCC, CTCRC - do manage to do this and I suspect reap benefits. But late calendars are a recurring issue for UK motorsport. The bones of UK calendars are worked out before the end of the previous year, although there are often late changes due to "big" events moving around. Earlier publication of "Forecast Calendars" would help even if people have to understand there could well be changes before it's finalised.

Crystal clear. Fully agreed. Having some of those people involved in their sport/leisure/passion/hobby/job is not a piece of cake, believe me, I used to work -hard and not very well paid - with a french organiser.
