Dr Bob and Delta 2022 signing off.

That's a wrap as they say.We raced in MRL Pall Mall Cup yesterday P23 overall. and collected a good second in class. Qualy was a bit of a night mare I had put two new tyres on the nearside of the Elite and the track was like a skating rink.We ended up last after qualy but no matter as it was a long race. Dijon two weeks ago was great fun and we won the class there in the 300 K race.Spa the week before was a nightmare as we could not stop the screen from fogging up in awful conditions Sunday.Fair few did not start and even more pitted to retire. we soldered on to end up 12th overall and second in class. I have to say that Dr Bob has driven superbly and kept me on my toes all year. He has had to learn new circuits every weekend and certainly picks them up quickly after just a walk around first thing in the morning.
Guess the highlight was winning performance of index at Classic Le Mans but we now have two shelves full of trophies.
We started 23 races many were 2 to 3 hours long and we finished everyone.
That little Elite has done us proud. I will have some news for what we will do in 2023 and probably adding another car to the stable." Not a GT40.

Brilliant result Iain.

I'm delighted for both of you and, of course, the Elite. What a lovely little thing that is.

Roll on 2023 ... (but not too quickly unless the winter turns very cold.)

What a sensational year it has been thanks to delta.
Best tracks were Le Mans and Pau
The rest were also a blast
My bucket list is well and truly empty
Now back to work to pay for it all haha
Now we have finished for the year I will post up some photos at the various tracks and add, not before time, stories to my Facebook racing site, Robert Ingram Historic Motorsport

Glad you had such a great time Robert. Certainly a wonderful itinerary and schedule..... as someone would say, Happy Days.
Are you having a break from racing in Aus as well or are you coming down for the Sandown Historic 1st weekend November? Just asking!
If you are see you there.
Cheers
Chris.

Chris unfortunately I won’t be doing the Sandown meeting in November. But on another note delta seems to be serious about going to the Phillip Island Classic next March. I will have dust off an Escort for him to use in Historic Touring Cars. We might do a 2 car team of Mark 1 Escort BDA 1600’s

Brilliant, the pair of you! And of course a great choice of car, but then I am biased...

Just like the old days, living in a van & trekking from race to race.

Bob, will you be back next year?

I will back next year I hope John. I am just waiting for the various race calendars to be published.
And as delta alluded to, we have just bought a new race car for pre 66 GT class.

In that case I will hopefully meet-up with you then. I used to work for Lotus, so have a special interest!

For various reasons I haven't been able to go anywhere this year but that should be different in 2023.

Sounds brilliant! Iain emailed me and did mention he was wanting to come to PI. Sorry to hear you wont be at Sandown but quite understandable given your year to date. Look forward to catching up at PI, hopefully with both you and Iain there. Team BDA sounds great!

Also the tease of a "new race car for pre 66 GT class" sound interesting.... hopefully more news / info forthcoming.
