NASCAR Cup Round 20: BRICKYARD 400, Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Jayski Race Page

After a week off, the Cup series returns to the track at the most famous speedway in the world. I still don't really like stockcars on it and fans have been showing their interest, or lack there of with ticket sales as attendance has been steadily falling since the inaugural event in 1994. However, this is most definitely one of those races that every driver wants to win, with a who's who winner list.

Past winners:
Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon - 3 wins
Dale Jarrett and Tony Stewart - 2 wins
Jamie McMurray - defending winner
Kevin Harvick
Bill Elliott
Bobby Labonte
Ricky Rudd
Dale Earnhardt

Quick look shows that the purse has been dropping off as well, which is, um, unusual...

Kenseth and Bifle the fastest in the first and second practices respectively.
Practice TIMES

Slight chance of rain this afternoon with q-ing at 2 pm.

GREEN Flag SUNDAY @ 119pm est

Get a break from the TNT group as ESPN will have the coverage for the race Sunday and q-ing today.

Apparently, the 24 is a four time winner of the event. My Jeff Gordon stats are lack luster at best .

Early on at Indy.......

Logano had a great "dirt track" moment as he is slideways all the way through turn 4.

Menard did well. He has shone at times at Childress. I'd sooner see Stewart win but a new winner is good too.
