Uddeholm Swedish Rally 2007
63 Entries to the Swedish Thrill in February - The entries have closed and the list is published. With 63 entries in the rally and 22 of them in the WRC class, everything is set for a thrilling fight in the snowy Swedish forests in February. One of the best battles may be the round two of home star Daniel Carlsson vs. Gigi Galli from Italy. They battled for third place throughout the whole rally in 2006, with Daniel ending up as a winner. For sure the Italian is more than willing to strike back this year.

Wow four Stobart Focus's. It will be interesting to see how Mikkelsen does.
Poor Mathew has been demoted to fourth driver. |

i think the mikkelson car is run by ramsport as it was in gB last year. matts not really 4th driver, more 2nd/3rd driver, hes not collecting points for the team on the ten rounds that latvala is competing in.

Ok then - who's going to win this one? Atkinson was quickest in the shakedown, can he take the win? Will the C4 be as quick on snow and ice as it was on tarmac? Solberg? Gronholm?
Personally I'll take a punt on Gronholm winning this one, Loeb will be quick but I think Marcus will have the edge in Sweden. |

Gardemeister quickest in the Mitsubishi on the Superspecial. Pretty unimportant stage, but Loeb is only 20th, 8.1 secs behind Gardemeister - Carlsson in the Xsara is just ahead of him. Raies seems to have picked up a 5-min penalty somewhere, hardly an optimal start to the rally...

Loeb stalled, Carlsson spinned. Raies speeded during recce 29 times that's why he got a penalty.... The stage was only 1,9 km so not really relevant.

Just saw the highlights on Eurosport. You have to love the Swedish (and now also Norwegian!) conditions. When the cars go off: swosh, lots of snow, you see nothing at all and you can hear the engine revving. But how on earth did Loeb get his hands on Sasha Baron Cohen's glasses?

Final top ten:
Gronholm Loeb Hirvonen H Solberg Carlsson Gardemeister Stohl Atkinson Ostberg Kopecky Once he'd established a gap Gronholm never looked like being caught, Seb opted to play safe and take second rather than push hard to try and catch Gronholm. Petter Solberg fell in a ditch and took ages getting the car out which dropped him well down the field. |
