Yoong Montoya should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Does anyone know the BHP figures for the Ford and Renault 1994 engines?

I know Benetton had a Ford V8 and Williams a Renault V10, but what were the BHP figures for the engines in 1994?

If you're trying to get an objective comparison between the Benneton and Williams, you won't be able to make it just top-end numbers. The Cossie had a fatter torque curve, while the Renault had better top-end.

This is because the Ford was a V8 and the Renault a V10

I always loved the sound of the old Renault V-10s, had a gravelly, buzzing type sound to them, quite low pitched.

In 1994 the figures for the Renault RS6 (1994) 3493cc V10 790hp @ 14300rpm

I don't know about the Cosworth V8.

If I had to chose I'd rather have the Renault from that year!

The Ford V8 Zetec engine had about 15-20 BHP less than the Renault one.

Something like that.

I may be saying a stupid thing, but wouldn't the V10 use more fuel than the V8 too?

Yep, to both of the above.
But i'm not so sure about the fuel thingy.

And the Ford Zetec engine that Benetton used was not as good as the Renault V10 in performance, but TC, LC, fuel hose tampering, etc.. did the trick IMHO
