I'm just amazed that the WTCC proved you could have interesting races on a street circuit (even if half of the whole weekend was under Safety Car), something our drivers can't seem to manage...

Well, I think we already have a fairly decent commentry lineup. If we need to get rid of someone, get rid of Matty White.

I'm content with the existing 7 team. It works. I don't see any bias in either Skaife or Larkhams comments. At least they have been there, unlike many other commenters . If Seton or Bowe were available they'd be worth listening to as well . There, that should allay the ford appoligist's fears.

Worst team-well bring back Raymond, Moffat, Dick Johnson & that gayfl/olympics/ horse "racing" hack Bruce Mc Anus.
Any then throw in Barry Oliver & Eastlake for the team from hell.

I'd rather listen to a celine dion & ac/dc duet than them.

i'd love to see MS and Ingall in the box, would be even spicier than some of the MS/Crompton discussions...

If they left Noonan in the box and never let Matt White back in, life would be pretty rosy. Not sure why Pat Welsh replaced Berretta on the Sunday Podium, anyone? He seemed equally as useless though.

and be sure never, never, ever let Murray Walker, or Darryl Eastlake near the box

I think the team we had on the weekend was good. You leave Matty White out, and its all good. You add him, and it sucks.

But seriously, 2 commentators who would give a fantastic view on the races would be Roy and HG.

Oh yeah, and listening to the MotoGP commentary on One HD, for god sake dont get Greg Rust and Daryll Beatie. Those two always talk with downward inflictions, giving everyone the feeling that everything they say is sad. Drives me bloody mad.

Get Allan Moffat back...or someone with an interesting voice...

I don't watch MotoGP or ASBK on OneHD because of the incredibly dull duo they have there

I believe a commentators job is to tell the people something they don't already know and can't see for themselves. Also, leave out shouting, in-jokes and giggling.

Daryl Eastlake was the worst commentator i have ever heard. I also thought Mike Raymond was a terrible commentator but i like him in the Family Guy. I thought Skaife was great initailly, now i find him annoying, too silly and Crompton used to be the best in the business, now i wonder if he has a black skivvied arm up his butt.

I think Larko is very good and McConville too, shame he has such a flat voice. Roy & HG are the MOST annoying show on Australian radio and that's quite a big effort considering the massive quantity of **** that pollutes our radiowaves. (I love my iPod).

Where should we source future TV race commentators?
1. Retired race drivers.
2. TV personalities.
3. Trackside race commentators.

Discuss.

Yeah, that sounds like a version of hell.

Problem is with AUstralian commentators, we talk to slow and voices don't have an edge to them, which makes it really hard to convey excitement...which for me is important and for that reason, no one suggested so far is exciting me...

They wouldn't provide serious commentary. But I reckon it would still be blumin funny! I miss their State of Origin commentary (brick with eyes, back door benny....)

I know they like Whincup and Winterbottom (the two W's), and they think Sidebottom should drive with Winterbottom at the enduros...

In this thread, has anyone mentioned Mark Oastler?

I think noonz working with Crompton and Skaife is good. Just no Matty White.

MO's voice is too dreary...

Roy and HG were great back in the 80's and 90's with the origin and Festival of the Boot GF's, but i think they went downhill after that...

From past experience, Roh & HG, while funny, would not be any good on motorsport for longer than a few sentences. They know something about the sport in the 1960's but little about the sport today.

Not to mention how they Were funny in the mid 90's, and had a resurgence at the SydMilOlys but havent got a laugh since.

Their more recent bagging of Weber is a good indication as to how unfunny and uninformed they would be on the subject given the chance.
