According to the powers that be, Feb 12 will be an official test day for the Victorian based teams at Winton.

I begged the boss for a day off mid-week, and I replied "that's OK", so I said "thanks heaps!".

Anyone else going?

well seems my plans of going have been thrown out the window as something has come up on that exact date

Gold coin donation for V8 Supercar Official Test Days

Release Date: 29/01/2008

V8 Supercars Australia will next month host two official team test days for the media and the public to see the new 2008 driver line-ups, car liveries and teams in action for the first time.

There will be one official test day at Winton Raceway on February 12 and the other at Queensland Raceway on February 14. These test days will consist of all Victorian teams testing at Winton and Queensland teams at Queensland Raceway. Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series teams are also invited to attend.

Entry to both test days will be by gold coin donation. All monies go to official charity Variety Australia.

The media and the public are welcome to attend either day. With significant driver movement and new sponsorship arrangements it is a unique opportunity to see these new look teams prior to the start of the Championship at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

Who: V8 Supercar Championship Series drivers and teams
When: Tuesday February 12 Winton Raceway, Thursday February 14 Queensland Raceway
Time: From 9am
Venue: Winton Raceway, Queensland Raceway

The days will be themed as a mini race day and official timing will be available at both.

I'll be there assisting with the running of the day who else is turning up for a look??

Remember it wont be a structured day as the cars will be coming in and out of pit lane as they want to test various things on the cars.

Will be interesting to see the new paint schemes in the flesh before the official start of the season at Clipsal.

It stated on the V8SC site that there were times available, are these just at the track or are they being posted on any websites at all?

Obviously "official timing" means it is only at the track as there is nothing on the live timing.

I was there, there was some rain ealry in the day, but in most it was a very fine day.

A number of the front runners were running the new sequential box.

Jack Perkins was tesing a Dev Series car sponsored by Mack.
