Question:
Does this mean that the UK will get the race "live", but here in North America, we will have to wait for the "delayed" broadcast of it on "Spike-TV"?????? Please advise.... Thanks! |

Hopefully they'll do a better job than Eurosport. Shouldn't be too hard to do, eh?

The Long Beach race on Spike will be LIVE at 4PM EST !!! and all other zones correspondingly !!! So will the races from Monterrey, Vancouver, Portland, and Laguna Seca - check the just updated TV schedule at CART.com ?! BTW, the cråp that Eurosport pulls off is a disgrace - OWRS should never agree to such shenaningas... even freakin' China has a better deal... zerO |

Great news from Motors TV.
It does actually mean the UK will be getting races live where the USA isn't though. Who'd be a motor-racing fan in the US, eh? |

That would possibly explain why British Eurosport aren't showing the Long Beach race live. I guess this would mean no live CART for those with NTL until NTL adds Motors TV to the package.

Get a dish then!
Motors TV doesn't need a subscription. |

Fantastic news for me, Champ Car moving from a channel that treated it badly, to a channel that will make time for it!
To those without Motors, you don't HAVE to throw money at Murdoc monthly to recieve motors, all you need is one time dish installation, and you'll get it! |

This is absolutely excellent news.
MotorsTV has done an exceptional job of bringing top quality motorsports to the UK in the last few years whereas Eurosport, maybe 5+ years ago was doing this, has ailed in recent years seemingly preferring more athletic sports (or football). MotorsTV has already borrowed a good deal of quality commentators from Eurosports motorsports packages, and assuming they're still able to do the same for OWRS would be great if the international commentary team doesn't still exist. I notice Leigh Diffey's now on IRL. Maybe Ben Edwards & Jeremy Shaw again? Here's to a heck of a lot of LIVE Motorsport watching this year in the UK, thanks to MotorsTV. |

Ben's busy with the touring cars. I'd like them to take the American commentary. Lets just hope they don't let Carlton Kirby anywhere near it.... |

Slightly hasty.
Ben managed to commentate on the whole 2002 Formula One season for Digital+ and the Touring Car series for that season. Still a chance. Hmmm, Kirby. Hopefully not. |

In 2002 Ben did the F1 digital from a London studio and the touring cars were a highlights package, voiced up after the event.
Now he does every touring car event live, from on site. So that pretty much rules him out of doing Champ Car. |

Ben and Jeremy would be perfection, but probably not going to happen, so I'd "settle" for Guy Hobbs and Jeremy if possible....Guy is still around the scene, he was pit reporter in Road America, after all, and I thought he did a great job as "Ben cover" back in 2001! |

I am curious - are Champ Cars really popular in the UK? Or is it basically an F1 nation? I mean, I love the fact that Champ Cars have fans all over the world, and that certainly UK fans are among the best, but how popular are Champ Cars over there?
I'm just asking out of curiosity, nothing more :-) |

Among racing fans, very popular.
Among the general public, it barely registers. |

Here in Australia, channel 10 has the coverage for the champcar season, however they'll only be showing the race delayed. (ie. monday night @ 11pm)
The only time they ever decide to show champcar live is during the Gold Coast event. From the sounds of it, eurosport offered a better package. |
