Well yes, but that is true of many racing series, particularly national championships but also series like FIA GT/LMS/ALMS too, most of the teams in these series arent factory teams, they are run by well funded privateers through a combination of sponsorship and their own money depending on indavidual cases. Motorsport generally is a rich mans sport im afraid.

But to losely quote John Bishop, it would be a better sport if it was affordable for the merely rich, not just the super rich.

If your talking about just British GT then I would suggest that these days the series is somewhat more affordable than back in say 2002 when the series used to have GT1 machinery like the Lister and Saleen in the Championship. GT3 is I would imagine considerably cheaper now than GT2 was back then, and probably cheaper than the current GT2 class too. Thats not to say its cheap of course.

Svierge has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Plus an extra €15k for the 2010 upgrades, which have just been announced.

GT3 is a dear game. Current Ferrari GT3 engines, new, cost around €50k.

A Mosler, in comparison, is incredibly cheap.
