Great from Lewis and Max.
But I’m going for Leclerc for forgetting it was Monaco. |

I'm still undecided.
Hamilton did very well to win this one, but this being Monaco certainly helped. Verstappen did very well, but both team (the unsafe release) and driver (the over ambitious and failed overtake attempt) made mistakes that could have been for more costly than those 5 seconds. Vettel for once was smart. I think he realized there was little to no chance to overtake Verstappen and Hamilton. By staying at aound 1-2 seconds he was able to keep his tires alive and be there to capitalize when something happened to one or both of these 2. I think this was the best result possible (bar a Ham-Ver crash) Bottas: see Vettel. He just didn't have the luck this weekend. Missed pole by a tiny margin, pittin under the SC meant no chance of overtaking Hamilton, contact with Verstappen and the extra stop. Keeping a gap to Vettel ensured his tires to be alive if opportunities came later on. Sainz had another great result. At the time I thought not stopping under SC was a mistake (ditto for both Torro Rosso's and Grosjean) but looking back they all probably did the right thing. They couldn't hope for more than 6th. |

Hamilton for me this time. OK, he always had the advantage, but did what he had to so.

Kimi. 46 laps on soft ...
He's doing things in an alfa that only an alfa driver could do. |

Max. If Lewis had given him half a chance, he would of won. Kudos to Lewis and Sebastian.

For once, I gave it to Vettel. Maybe it was just that the FOM radio chap didn't pick him, maybe it was that he said nothing interesting, but he did seem to just "get on with it" this weekend without whinging.

I would love to vote in this section, but I can't because the option to vote for Fernando Alonso is gone.

Kimi. Doing 46 laps on the soft tires was mesmerizing and magical.

Hamilton. It's getting boring, but he and Mercedes are just on top of everything.
I do agree with Gert re Vettel and Bottas though. |

In the end I voted for Sainz too.
He got the most out of what he got. If even Albon admits he pulled of a great overtake (on himself and Kvyat) then that must have been something. Not to take anything away from Hamilton, who as usual did a very good job, but I'm getting a bit annoyed by the 'only you could have done this'-like comments. Sure, it will have been (more) difficult on the wrong (or less optimal) tires, but still ... He wasn't the only one who went soft-medium. Sainz-Kvyat-Albon-Ricciardo-Grosjean-Magnussen-Raikkonen-Giovinazzi did it too, while Norris went the oppposite: Medium-Soft. Of those mentioned above Ricciardo and Magnussen stopped on exactly the same lap as Hamilton. |

Sainz - for the reasons already mentioned. Honourable mentions to Kvyat and Albon.
Hamilton loses points for continuous whining about the tyres when others were running the same strategy and just getting on with it. Mercedes weren't looking like pitting him at any point so they obviously weren't that concerned. |

For me it had to be LH or Sainz, but I gave it to the latter because I like the colour of his car more. (As good a reason as some others! ) He also outperformed his team mate, and got some good points for Macca.....

Lewis just got on with his job, ok he has the best car for just about all the circuits, but he still has to do it on the day Good to see McLaren getting up the field at last.

Lewis had a bit of luck and yes he hasn’t got many challengers, but he does a competent enough job.
McLaren need to hope it isn’t a one off |
