Shares in Ferrari?

Are ferrari listed on the stock exchange? Because if they are, Bernie and Max must surely hold shares in the company. They will always do everything they can to see ferrari at the top. As soon as any other team makes a performance enhancing innovation, Max makes sure it get's stamped out. PRAWN and TOAD make sure to kick up a fuss and Max bends over backwards for them. The brakes are never put on ferrari's innovations when they are miles ahead of the field.

You're going to have to do a lot better than that! How about just one example? You will find that for every one you can think of there are plenty of counter-arguments.

I'll give you just one - Ferrari were very well advanced with their V12 project, having invested millions when it was decided to limit the number of cylinders to 10. I don't recall the FIA making any allowance for that - and that was at a time that Ferrari desperately needed a boost.

The F1 establishment's interest in Ferrari doesn't need to extend anywhere beyond their being the biggest brand in motorsport and the most popular and famous team worldwide. If Ferrari are in it and doing well it is good for F1 (despite what many on here wold have you believe) because F1 needs its Manchester United equivalent.

Has something happened recently to make this topic come up. A 1-2 perhaps?

If Max or Bernie owned shared in Ferrari this would of been deemed, I am sure, anti-competive by the Europena goverment. I am unsure about if Ferrari have shares as they are part of the FIAT group are in marketing terms are not a great profit maker.

The only way they might own shares in via 'blind trust' which would mean they would not even know they own them. That is they give £xxx to there personal banker and he buys shares and simply tells them how much they have made/lost and does not say what shares.

Most people who invest in the market tend to go for a spead of shares anyway and not just one company. For example with the UK FTSE when it began it's crash from over 7000 points to 3500 I gave a personal manager at Scottish Widow money and said do as you will with it on the stock market. I then took it out when the stock market stabilised at 4300 (though it has raised more now). The point in this is I have no idea what shares I ever owned and I suspect like me Bernie could not care less so long as it makes money!

When you buy shares in the way I did you can opt out of certain areas of the market deemed 'unethical' like cigerette companies etc... and I am not going into that much detail but it is there if you care to use it.

One last point, this was really hard to say as part of it involved defending Ferrari and if anyone loves having a go at them it is me but fair play to them I suspect on this one. I for one reckon they have bent the rules, just like Renualt have with launch control but the rules are rules and so long as they are not broken there is no issue there. Others may not like it but they should of though of it themselves rather. You notice no one complained about Ferrari over the race weekend in terms of 'they might be cheating' but just about how they need to improve their own cars, get testing and hope for hot weather in Malaysia.

Ferrari isn't on any stock exchange, at least for now.
Abput that, just have to remind somebody that the Rosse have been losing for more than 20 years, to Williams and, mainly Macs: was FIA top management previously stockholder of Ron and Frankie?

I'm sure that Bernie & Co were very interested to buy shares in Ferrari to get a strong bargaining position in the GPWC debacle. But since that has been solved (well... practically solved) i don't think they would be so interested in it now just to give Ferrari... um... what?

Firstly, calling people Prawn and Toad doesn't qualify you to win any lucky draws so it would be pleasant if you stop it.

Second, Bernie invest money in Minardi...so are we going to see Minardi win WCC??

Third, Ferrari's floatation plans have been shelved for the time being.

Fourth, conspiracy theories of Ferrari aren't new, and they are only lame excuses cooked up by fans of other teams or even by the teams themselves in a desperate attempt to make their own loss less embarrassing.

Fifth, i suppose you are pretty new here..so hello.

Yes hello Webber14. Flamebait doesn't really work very well here, particularly in the context of conspiracy theories. So, you're not a tifoso?

While there is possibly nothing wrong with this thread, it hasn't started too well and I guess is not going anywhere. So I've closed it. At best it was just going to be a bash http://tentenths.com/forum/misc.php?...ge=1#behaviour

Of course, as always, feel free to start another thread on similar subjects. Ferrari floating (or the delay of), etc..., or start one on another subject, etc.......
