Team taking control of their destiny in 1993? (TEGA given the rights in 1995)

Holden and Ford only in 1993? (what about the BMWs, Toyota's etc.. that year)

13 cars only at Calder in 1997 according to David White (then they cut to a picture the cars on the grid with a heap more than 13, plus of course the fact Dick Johnson qualified 14th for that round)

please Plus of course the fact it hasn't been ten years......

Is this the video they show in the secret room at AVESCO HQ to pump up their egos before a negotiation session with a new sponsor or race circuit?

28 cars qualified
28 started race 1 - 24 finished
26 started race 2 - 26 finished (Romano and Palmer didn;t start)
26 started race 3 - 24 finished (Trimbole Not Classified on 10 laps)

Plus of course - Bowe qualified one spot of ahead of his boss! Pole - Murphy then Gardiner, Skaife, Seton, Brock, Jones, Longhurst, Larkham, Richards and Ingall. Interesting - Five of the top ten are still racing 10 years later.

The quote I loved the best also came from the network 10 guru..

Something along the lines of having 55 cars at Bathurst...... well excuse me mr.. but Bathurst had capacity grid for almost ever until AVESCO / VESA came along.... sure.. its now quality not quantity... but the fact that privateer cars aint allowed to run these days is just plain dumb.

It is true, AVESCO/Network 10 have done a lot of good, we cant discount that... but come on.. why not allow a couple of good privateer cars to run.. they deserve to be there.

Well you missed out. It was good to some of the old cars, incidents and wins even if they were very brief.

The interviews appear to have been done at Southbank (Brisbane). The bridge in the background is the Captain Cook Bridge (M1/South East Freeway).

They were probably carried out during time out from the series launch day a few weeks back.

That's all folks

Well if you had of read the bit you edited out of my post it should be pretty clear.

I agree it was 1 hour of AVESCO and 10 celebrating themselves, but so what. Some of the vision was good and brought back memories. Take from the show what you want and discard the rest.

I assume you watched it or you wouldn't be able to make a valued judgement.

Head Rev should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So, all you people knocking Ch10, V8supercars etc, wont be watching the Clipsal 500 next week obviously. If Ch10 and V8supercars don't pat each other on the back, who will. They have only put on one of the best sporting event in Australia, promote it and provide some great action. Perhaps Ch 10 and Mr Cochrane should go away and then we will see some real motorsport entertainment....NOT.

How about we stop the 'Tall Poppy Syndrome" and give credit where credit is due. Then let the 250,000 + spectators next week have their say.

I await your negative responses................
