Maybe John Bowe, then he can stop winge-ing about parity of having the TOP Ford and then only blame himself for bad driving skills and not the car.

You can always pass opinion upon someones comments but to call John Bowes driving skills into question probably shows how little you actually know.

Well Craig this was basically in reference to Mr Bowe complaining about parity once again and its a little tiring hence my voice of opinion. But thats ok, because everyone passes various opinions and questions on how bad a driver Mark Skaife is currently, and thats no point either as his record also speaks for itself.

THen again this is off topic.

SBR will make a decision in a few months and Bargs is defitly on a very short list one might say he's currently favorite

the sbr cars are so good that any of the top drivers would have a chance of being successful if they won the seat.
id love to see what lowndes would do with the car.
i wonder how he feels now that hes tied to 888 for two years and just has to watch the drive go begging

After the 888 efforts today, i dont think that Mr CL would be too stressed and worried about moving. Then again its only R1

I like the little fella but he is contracted to Orrcon for another year and I would like to see him win races for my favourite team instead.

As for the other drivers most are contracted - those available include BPB Richards (ugh, please no), Bumper Bar Kelly (please, no again), Max Wilson and development drivers such as Canto, Macrow, Luff. None of these are A Grade drivers like MA, CL, MS and RI.

Lowndes is the best (or at least the equal of MA) driver out there but he can win now (his team will get better and better and they are amazed by what he can do, just like the rest of us) so he's out. No chance of MS switching and Max aint got it.

There are 2 ways they can go IMO - take back Frosty and continue his development because Rusty could win the title without MA to beat and Frosty is still probably the best young prospect. I favour that this is what they'll do and, unfortunately, Larko will have to find a B Grader to support Bargs.

The other way is to go the Wild Card - James Courtney is the obvious choice and I think would be a star. Or they could find another local (Fabian Coulthard looks a good prospect) or overseas guy from DTM / BTCC or ? to increase the Euro interest in the series.

My tip = Frosty.

How about Will Davidson? He has some useful overseas racing experience, isn't a perpetual 'team jumper', is now committed to the V8 series; and thanks to the debarcle that is Team Dynamic, is *currently* out of a drive.

I think Bargs race ability has again been proven this weekend, like at the GP the two Orrcons were near each other but its Bargs who can attack and come thru the field, while Frosty is still learning the finer art of this. Dont get me worng, I like Frosty but if SBR say they want a matured, experienced driver, Bargs has to be considered.

I voted for Frosty but thinking about it more over time I reckon Todd Kelly would be in with a shot.

1. This would allow him to get away from the family connections and prove he is there because of his skills eg: Andrew Jones.
2. He has a large fan base and is popular with the crowd.
3. He seems well spoken, intelligent and clean cut which is good for sponsers.
4. He has a chance of winning and becoming the no. 1 driver unlike at HRT while Mark Skaife is driving.
5. He is out of contract with HRT at the end of this year.
6. Proven race winner

He is obviously talented and this could be the break he needs.

Also Steve Johnson could be included with the above reasons but I think Todd is more of a chance.

Dean Canto!
On the weekend he gave us a glimpse of what he can do with a decent car and some team support.
Hard to improve on fastest in Practice 1, Practice 2, Pole Position, led Race 1 & 2 from beginning to end and won by 18 seconds and broke the lap record twice.
Okay, so it was the 2nd tier competition BUT:
Have a look on Natsoft at Saturday's race times -
Only 10 cars in the main series race clocked times faster than Dean did earlier that day in his race (and one of those was Skaife's second to last lap in essentially qualifying set-up) and he was carrying an extra 100kg of weight!

Did you see that Jimmy?
Aye - that he did.

He is 1 of the, if not the AUS #1 Speedcar driver currently racing speedway.
Other than that I have no idea on his credentials on a road curcuit at any level, unless someone else would like to enlighten us?

Gav56 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Adam is a former Aust Speedcar/Midget champ and has raced Craftmans Trucks(Nascar Utes) in the US.He also won the Suzuki GTi series a few years back.

As I understand it... Mr Clarke is a long time friend of Mr Morton of Decina Bathrooms fame, and sponsor of Warren Luff's #60 PCR-Prepared HPDC series Falcon.

It has been suggested that Mr Clarke has wangled a test drive in the #60 car, which was an SBR car last season, to see how he compares to the other tar babies on the day.

So Mr Clarke is likely to drive an ex-SBR car...

... but it is a very long bow to draw for a test in a development series car pitching towards replacing a 2 time series champion without having driven on tarmac for a number of years.

Anything is possible, but I would respectfully suggest this falls into the category of improbable....
