Sadly not. I'm not privvy to the exact details, but I gather that in 2008 the event made a not inconsiderable loss for the club, and it was decided that it wasn't economically viable to return on the same basis - at least not every year.

However, a person with contacts might be able to arrange a grid (or a proportional of a grid) at Spa with another club independently from Mono itself.

Are you out in 2010 Jeremy?

Has anyone got space in their truck for a FFZetec going to Spa? Shared costs. If need be take own car split trailer saving?

Based near Gatwick.

John, try contacting Malcolm and Jen, they normally do Spa with the Mono club.

I believe Jeremy Timms is going, and I think Phil Moore is going (he said he was to me). Both usually use a transporter, and they may have spare space. Jeremy can be contacted through the Mono forum (and possibly on this forum - monotimms). Phil is contactable via Facebook or direct email.

F Ford Zetecs (1800s) would run in Mono 1800, alongside F Ford 2000s (Pintos) and Formula Vauxhall Junior 16V.

F4 cars also qualify for 1800cc class I think...the idea of been beaten by a loads of Zetecs may be too hard to bear....

no they don't you can add wings but the engine must remain standard FFZetec. You'd run in the mono2000 as car is to those rule except 1800cc

Which is what Jonathan Lewis did when he first started racing in both F4 & Mono a few years ago. Later, I believe he had the ability to change rear ends on his car so that he could swap easily between series!

Would an '09 BARC spec FR2000 be competitive in mono? Anyone know what power they make with the restrictor fitted?

Nobody knows, as it hasn't been done, but I suspect that it would be extremely competitive in Mono2000.

They'd probably be very competitive. Closest comparison
I have seen was at the Plum Pudding meeting a few years ago when Ray Rowan (in a Club F3 Dallara) was hassled by a well driven F Renault 2000 (Worswick IIRC) for many laps but note both were running at normal ride height not Monoposto 40mm. Still, as everyone in Mono is at 40mm then its equal for all.

You might even find that the FR2000 is less effected by the rise to 40mm than the Dallara F3s. But then again, it might like it even less...

The best thing to do would be to try it - register as a guest and come and play. Guest membership is only £30 per race (£60 for two) plus entry fee. You are eligible for points, and the car must meet the regulations, but it'll be a lot of fun finding out how quick an '09 FR2000 is in 'Mono Trim'!

u cant run a 09 spec FR - I thought they had to be BARC spec cars in Mono?? If so this is a fair bit slower than full TOCA spec. I think a good Club F3 time and a TOCA spec FR are the same - and about 2 secs quicker than best mono time around Snett...

How did Jonathan Lewis get on in Monoposto? I have his car now and was racing in F4 last season but this year due to other commitments i can't do the championship. The only race i have seen that i can make this season is the mono round at Anglesey in May. As far as i know 36mm chokes are allowed for the carbs but i'm not sure of any other performance mods compared to class A F4 (other than bolting in a 2 litre engine!!). Does anyone else know of anything i could do?

JL was Mono 2000 Champion in 2003 and 2004 but I can't remember which year he ran his car in Mono 2000 in 1800cc modified F4 trim.
