Just for clarity - no change means (as expected) Powell is back after Oliphant was in the seat at Thruxton.

No changes to BTCC field.

MINI JCWs - 28 cars. Normal grid. Bradley Gravett has switched to the Excelr8 team as confirmed on his social media a couple of weeks ago. Hannah Chapman is on the entry list, but I believe she isn't racing this weekend. Matt George was announced by Hybrid Tune on Instagram to be racing for them at Silverstone and Brands GP but he isn't on the provisional entry list.

Ginetta Juniors - 26 cars. Biggest grid of the season. Thomas Spragg (Preptech), Finn Harrison (Assetto), Mikey Porter (Preptech), and Sid Smith (Assetto) set to make their debuts. Return of Freddie Slater (R Racing).

Ginetta GT4 Supercup - 16 cars. 5 G56 Pros with the return of Reece Somerfield (Breakell) and Dawes (Century). 2 G56 Ams after the events of Thruxton. 5 G55 Pros with the return of Josh Poulain (Motus One). 4 G55 Ams.

F4 - 20 cars. Biggest grid of the season. Welcome return to the championship for Fortec with cars for Marcos Flack (another championship returnee) and James Higgins. Isaac Barashi debuts for Phynsis by Argenti. Jaden Rahman Pariat debuts for Chris Dittmann Racing.

Porsche Carrera Cup GB - 21 cars. Return of Jack Bartholomew (Richardson) and Ross Wylie (Toro Verde) to the Pro field. Return of Charles Bateman (Team Parker) in Pro-Am. Welcome championship return for Karl Leonard (Team Parker) in Pro-Am (presumably in Justin Sherwood's car given he is absent again). Mark Radcliffe returns to Valluga in the Am class. 11 Pros, 8 Pro-Ams, 2 Ams.
Thank you for these run-downs!

Looks good all around, a nice boost for F4 and Juniors. Expected GT4 to be worse after losing a couple from Thruxton.

Still find it strange that Gravett has left his dad's team! Must be an awkward dinner! I'm sure there are reasons.

Graves Motorsport isn't Robb Gravett's team. I don't know why you think that.

Ah, so you're right. Must've made that connection somewhere through his interviews. And also the name!

You're welcome!

I think its quite a strong entry overall.

With Fortec returning to British F4, it seems highly likely that next season will have around 20 full-season entries which is great for the future of FIA-backed British single-seater racing.

All 4 new Junior drivers (5 if we include Slater) are probably making the most of the regulations. I think you can do 2-3 rounds in a season and still keep Rookie status for the following year which can have bonuses attached.

I also expected a very small GT4 field. James Kellett could clinch the G56 Pro title this weekend and could set a record for winning 4 races in one weekend (admittedly a 4-race weekend has only happened once before, at Knockhill 2016).

A notice for anyone planning to attend - Tickets are only available online, and not available to purchase on the gate.

(Particularly worth noting if you are planning on taking someone under 15 - who will still need a free ticket.)

I have a general dislike for Silverstone, its not particularly great for viewing and ever since they started hiring security guards for events, I got a nasty vibe about the whole thing.

I believe that's been the same for all Silverstone events this year.

On the plus side they don't close on-line sales so you could buy on the day using your phone whilst sat in the car park, signal permitting of course.

A new Am class entrant has been added - Finlay Cooper with Team Parker. Graham (Redline Racing) and Radcliffe (Valluga) didn't take part in today's test day.

Looks like F4 is winning that whole Formula 4/GB3/4 war, pointless that it is that it happened in the first place

Here's an idea that's only been posted 1000 times on here: How about one strong single seater series instead of three competing at a similar level for the same talent pool?

GB3 is a Regional F3 series so really is one level higher than F4, and is an intermediate step to FIA F3.

GB4 is club racing for those with no money. F4 is about four times the budget.

Tell that to the entry lists

A bit of a warning for Ginetta really, when you think about it

Butcher on pole, as last year when he won race one and two.

All the championship contenders are well placed, except Turkington a little farther back, so looks like the points will close in tomorrow!

Regarding the support races, a double win in Juniors for Rowledge puts him over 100 points clear in the championship. Kellett retired from Supercup with Emson winning. Weller took the win in the Minis, now with a fairly conclusive lead in the points, and Gray was victorious in F4.

Will Powell was reprimanded for an incident with Collard in FP1, and also looked to be involved in Moffat's qualifying spin... Not sure Chilton on Taylor-Smith will be looked at too kindly either.
