Tiga C2

Hi...
I'm looking for info/data on the Tiga cars GC285-GC289 Wheelbase height width weight and so on.
History's about the cars. how many went to the stats to do the imsa camel light?
Some cars are in use now but how many where there made?

I'd have to disagree - they were the mainstay of C2 before and after Spice arrived and turned out in throngs at UK WSC/WSPC events. They had a strong presence in the National UK C2 championship too and I even recall seeing a few in Thundersports.

Now if you said, "Harrier", I'd agree, but again they still showed in the National championships.

Forgot to mention - I also recall seeing a GC287/9 at Castle Combe in a Special GT round. It was run by a gent from Broadstairs and was ex-Tim Harvey.

Tim Lee Daveys car was a GC84 chassis with a DFL think updated to 85 spec. It caught fire while testing with Chris Hodgetts at Brno and burned out due to a lack of fire extinguishers close to hand........

I think it was actually a GC83, the original Group C Tiga. Raced by Bellm/Crang/Spice in late 83, with a Chevy in C1, then modified into a C2 for the 1984 season, very successfully.

TLD bought it from Bellm for the 85 season, while the latter and Spice built the GC85 for C2. TLD used it in T'Sports from 1985, then into 1986 with the turbo DFL, which as you say burnt out at Brno. Shame as it had started to go better, IIRC there was a good article in MN in mid-86 about Tim and the project. Would have been nice to see the car alongside the Tiga Lambo taking on the 962s/Jags/Sauber into 1987!

Tiga stuff went to usa4 years ago
i was offerd it all years ago before it was loaded
i didnt see any mileage in it so few cars running it would take yonks to get your money back on supplying parts
Andreason has sold it with Chevron stuff back to uk last winter

Yes I stand corrected my memory from 24 years ago is waning! Neil Crang also co-drove with TLD.

The car that was burned down (due to a burst oil hose) was a Tiga GC87.
Tiga GC83-250 is alive and well - converted to road car spec.

Cheers!
