Bullett should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The car is here now, Owned by Melbourne based John Kaias who has previously raced various GT3's and Cup Cars. Apparently it is the British GT Championship winner. That's all I know but he definately owns it and is in Australia now.

Thanks for the update, Bullett; it's great if we can keep track of these cars. It is indeed the British GT winning car from last year, DBRS9/2 owned and driven by Leo Machitiski. You can see it's race record at post#2 above.

I also note that EVO mag's July issue reports that a DBRS9 has been prepared for the Nurburgring 24 hours and will be run by Phoenix Racing and Aston Martin Austria and that they are trying for outright victory with a team of Ring specialists that might include Klaus Ludwig. This would tie in with the information supplied by Tom Papadopoulos at post#14, and is therefore almost certainly the (ex?) John Sinders DBRS9/8.

Finally, we need to record that, at Snetterton on Sunday (3/6) the Barwell prepared bioethanol car, DBRS9/3, driven by Drayson/Cocker won its first race. I'll try to list the full British GT results for these cars at the end of the season, but just for completeness confirm here that DBRS9/10 (Harrington/de Zille Butler) was 3rd and DBRS9/1 (Alexander/Bentwood) was 5th.

I see most people have taken pictures of the chassis numbers which seem to be visible from the outside, where is the number on the car? looks like its through glass so is it on the dash or something? Cheers

The chassis number is located under the windshield, at the base of it on the right corner where you are looking the front of the car.

I think its a US requierement for all cars, and then now every maker put it at this place (even for my Peugeot !)

You´re heading for an Australian GT event? Excellent. You can also check the numbers of the Porsche (same place like the Aston) and the Ferrari. The Maranellos have two visible numbers (in front of the steering wheel and on the bottom where normaly the second seat is).

If the Porsch edidn´t have a number in the windscreen you need to open the engine cover and have a look inside the car

Dbrs/19

Cadena Motorsport debuted this chassis at Brands Hatch 14/15 July (2007 British GT Championship). Paul Whight and Amanda Stretton retired from race 1 and, although they did the morning warm up, they did not start race 2.

Hahaha ummm ok, the event was a state race meeting, so not the Aus GT but a Victorian (state down the bottom on the main land not Tasmania) Sportscar Championship round 3 at Sandown Raceway, Melbourne. Debut of a 996 GT3 RSR (only one in Aus). But I left after I posted so missed your post but im heading down to the Aus GT round at Phillip Island in August so I will look then if I can get up close...

What cars am I looking at, F430 or 360? the Porsches are 996 Cups and 1 ex-Cirtek RS upgraded to RSR, maybe this factory RSR will be there, while im doing this anyone know where the numbers for Gallardo GT3's are? or Exige GT3's?...Finished sorting through pics and will post below soon...

Thank you Alan; yes, in their bright yellow, apparently! I understand that it will be campaigned by their established drivers once it is fettled.

I came across this picture on Flickr tonight, apparently taken at a Prodrive open day.

Picture

It's a cropped shot of a DBRS9 engine it appears. The engine though has a badge stating that it is "DBRS9 1001"

Is this number just for the engine or is this a new numbering sequence for DBRS9s?

Above, I'm actually quoting from Tom Papadopoulos, so another question answered, thanks panoz.lmp1

Dbrs9/19

Now captured for posterity! DBRS9/19, run by Cadena Motorsport, and driven by Barrie Whight and Gavan Kershaw, at the British GT round at Silverstone on 12 August. Apparently, both drivers professed themselves happy with the car. An oil plug blew out of the engine during the race and deposited a fair amount of oil on the track. Barwell kindly lent them a replacement, whereupon the oil was replenished and the car went on to complete the race!

Villois Racing (Italian) were running DBRS9/15 for Gabriele Lancieri and Diego Romanini and DBRS9/16 for Marco Petrini and Massimiliano Wiser in the International GT Open series races at Brands Hatch over the weekend. This is a series of 13 races across Europe organised by the Spanish GT Sport Organisation.

DBRS9/8

Hey guys! Wake up, here's some info for you.

DBRS9/8 and /7 were probably the very first two RS9s to take part in an official race in early 2006. Anyone can check that?

DBRS9/8

2006 SCCA Speed World Challenge GT Championship - Autosport Designs / Sinders Racing, #44. Best result - 5th.
2007 VLN Series - Phoenix Racing, #101. 5 races (2nd, 13th, rest DNF)
2007 24 Hours Nürburgring - Phoenix Racing / Aston Martin Austria, #007
2008 VLN (26.04.08) - Aston Martin (I'm not sure who entered the car? - plain white with red lipstick and Aston Martin decals), #92
2008 24 Hours Nürburgring - Aston Martin / Aston Martin Austria, #6

It is worth to mention that /8 is the only DBRS9 raced at Nürburgring. This car is nothing like other RS9s because of Nürburgring-specific setup. It is also the only RS9 supported/raced by the factory (24 Hours Nürburgring this year).

Car doesn't belong to J.S anymore.

That´s correct. They raced at Sebring mid of March, the FIA GT3 season started 2006 only in early May.

The car was entered under "Aston Martin Salzburg - Geneva - Wien" but was in fact prepared and maintained by Prodrive.

DBRS9/8 took part in VLN race again on 11.10.
Very much improved and in stunning Gulf Oil livery.
4th place overall and a fantastic best time of 8:14.

Yes, I'm sorry I've not been updating as I had promised, and now a bit out of touch. However, I'm posting this to record the fact that yesterday's (6 Oct) Autosport carries an advert from Hexis selling their DBRS9s, chassis nos 12 and 22.
