There are a couple of cars in Holland that could fare pretty well,
these are the Red Geva Racing Mygales of Stefan de Groot & Tristan te Pas and the Van Amersfoort Blue Mygale of Jaap van Lagen and the Yellow mygale of Multipromo's Ferdinand Kool. the white van Diemen of Xavier maassen should do well as he has shown a lot of speed and driving ability and all five have driven at the Festival before.

Hi Guys and welcome to 10-10ths. I've only seen FFord a couple of times this year, but Pat Long seems to improving as the season goes on and Ronnie Bremer looks like top Mygale, so that's the kiss of death for their chances

HI Guys,

I would put my house on Goransson, he was in another league at Donington at the weekend. We all stood on the pitwall in disbelief when he put in his pole lap, for both the Euro round and the Slick 50. 0.7 secs clear of the others is a bit demoralising for everybody else.....

Xavier should do well, he has not raced at the festival before but he did the winter series and came third, with most races being at Brands so he should have a good chance. He was lightening quick at the Silverstone course I went on last year.

Steven Kane from the junior series should be quick if he enters it, drives for Mackie Motorsport and was quicker than the slick 50 Mackie guys at Donington. Look out for our drivers, Lewis Carter, Mike Conway and Ben Clucas (Team MDR) as they should go well if we enter it with them.

Andy

You are forgetting that Maassen drove in the B class which featured six zetec cars and a number of 1600 kent cars. he qualified fourth and ended third after one of the 99 mygales had problems. while te Pas finally improved his drivingstyle and is second to none in race pace he has a Geva Racing Mygale, who have won 4 out of five races this year, available instead of the very much troublesome swift SC2000 and is currently ahead of you're very dear Xavier Maassen and i'll bet you anytime that he and his perhaps even better teammate Stefan de Groot will give the works Mygales and Van Diemens a run for their money indeed!

Stefan de Groot 4 poles 3 wins 3 fastest laps
Tristan te Pas 2 second grid positions 2 seconds 1 win one fastest lap

your turn now.......

STG i cant say alot about him as i dont know but come on do you realy think that the other 2 will be able to give the works guys a run for the money??????? I dont think so. Jan is in a VD with one of the top team and i would put him in the top 3 drivers out there this year and he can only just give them a run.
Im sure when the time comes ill be right and you will be wrong???????

I can remember a fourth place at the festival in 1997, 8th place in 98 but can you remember jeroen Bleekemolen on his only outing at Brands-Hatch in the Championship the Swift wasn't preforming well in the last couple of races and when Bleekemolen came with Geva racing engineers and rebuilt the cars rear it qualified fourth and kept being competitive.

My instinct tell's me that because the car Geva racing are using finally is on the same level of the British cars, the Swift was never up to the task of surprising the British teams and despite problems Geva always kept it comptetitive in one way or another, the Geva team can challege for a podium position!

by the way rimrider where you from and what's your name?

Although we are going off the subject here, I have to remind you of what happened at Spa last year. Van Diemen were in another league and I feel it will be the same again this year.

Back to the subject I think the FFF is out of Goransson, Long, Bremer, Heylen, Dahlgren, Rudholm, Kane and Carroll. To correctly predict an order is a bit like guessing the winning lottery numbers.

While I feel that the Van Diemen team is currently the best team in the Formula Ford World I feel that it is just because of the major ammounts of resources at their disposal have something to do with that. the real stars in a festival or any Formula Ford meeting are the long time Formula Ford teams that go and try to make a dent in the factory armour. That's the real figh and I feel that teams like Mackie, Sweeny Hopper, Aztec and again Geva Racing are currently very capable of overunning the Factory teams at certain circuits and although you need a little luck I Feel that one of the 4 teams that I've just mentioned could do it this year

Don't you see?

i have to believe in the possibility of a foreign team that wins the Festival otherwise what need is there to come to Brands-hatch?
And I genuinly believe that a podium finish is a possibility for Geva Racing. The team has never had such a good car, such an experienced, well balanced and fast driver Line-up and such a winners atmosphere as they have now and believe me they're ready for it. you just haven't experienced the changes that have taken place over the years.
I have........

that's all I had to say.

Formula Ford grids around Europe are currently thriving. In the UK the Slick 50 series has around 34 cars regularly and another 26/32 cars in the Avon Junior series. In France there are 26/34 cars, Benelux 30, Sweden (in its first year) and 20+ in a few of the other Scandanavian countries. I'm not sure about Germany, but Ireland has only about 15 because somr of their teams have come to do the Avon Junior in the UK. I think that is a healthy set of circumstances that alo tof other categories would die for.

As for the Festival, I think that economic climate (strong pound, cost of hotels, fuel etc) keep the Europeans away, especialy when they know they are going to get beat by the British teams as well.

Well , i will stand up and say Caroll, Dahlgren and Long in the top three if they finish!
I do believe that Steve Kane will also figure quite highly up there with the Slick 50 guys.

Farc.
