Apart from the great pass from one Mercedes on the other nothing worth mentioning happened.


Oh: I forgot: The Racing Point Force Indias also passed eachother. Even twice.

I rewatched some of the highlights and it looked good. An actual proper fight for position between Hamilton and Vettel, we don't see that a lot.

And looking at the post above me some people didn't even watch the race at all but pretend they did

That was a pretty abysmal race. The highpoint was Lewis overtaking Vettel and the lowpoint was Bottas moving over for Lewis. In between all that, the TV coverage was poor and not much was given, if any, to Verstappen's charge through the field. What battles there were further down the field, hardly got any coverage. As for the aftermath, it left a very bad taste.

Hamilton's pass on Vettel was bold, Lewis handing the place back to Bottas would have been bolder.

Wierd to watch F1 expecting racing

Most F1 "races" are won at the computer screen

Spec series produce good racing - cars similar, drivers similar, odds of competition increased

I'd actually be surprised to see racing in a prototype series

5. Some overtaking, but nothing to get too excited about

4. A dull race. Good show by Verstappen in the early laps in particular. Great overtake by Hamilton after a desperate double move by Vettel. Otherwise, very poor. But not because of the team orders. I don't get the 'sham' outpourings here at all. TW did exactly what he had to do, openly and with no subterfuge. No-one should have been surprised that it happened.

Only 4 cars finished above their grid position, and 2 of them were massively out of place on the grid.

maybe its the track, its location but this is one i just cant get excited for.

also team orders dont bother me as much as Ferrari's inability to put it together does. they have the driver and car to take the challenge so the season has been a bit disappointing on that front.

now with the engine penalties and strategic changes from the others, i cant say im really looking forward to the last 5 races....to many races imo.

Close enough, chilli. I was leaning 4 but thought it was an average to mildly average, so that's dead mid table for me.

It all just felt a bit flat at the end.....I understand the team orders but it did take the edge off. Great pass by Lewis, lots of good stuff from Max, solid performance from LeClerc, but I don't really like the circuit.....4.

Interesting. The coverage we got here (ESPN2. Sky feed I think, not sure. A project to find out as I pay no attention to such matters) was quite the opposite. Max got coverage from the get go and all the way through. Other battles were covered also.

We're watching auto racing. There's a start and a finish to see which auto and driver gets from the former to the latter first, second, third (and so on). That is racing/competition. Be it "good", "close", or "not"; it's a race.
