Apparently all of the F4 drivers are destined for F3 or GP2. They got in loads of practice of not acknowledging marshals' applause at the end of each race.

3 races, approx 50 finishers (that's 3 x ~17 finishers), not one wave of acknowledgement at Club. Maybe they had worn out their waving arms by Stowe !!

However, I must say that the driver of no. 8 car was pretty friendly when he stopped with us halfway through the final race, but then he is doing politics at the Uni of Aberystwyth.

Thanks to the guys on Post 3 (Farm) at the weekend. Not too much to do but made up for by the banter both days.

And on that basis, the Caterham, Lotus and Ariel drivers are never going to make it in racing as they did manage to wave.

Thanks from a trainee to the crew on Luffield In - had a good day on Sunday and will be back for more punishment!

A big thank you to all the marshals for their work at the weekend. I know we were short, but everyone did a wonderful job.

Although it was cold at times, at least we got away with only a few spots of rain.

See you all soon.

Best regards

Had a great two days! Sat was spent at Luffield In with a great crew, and something to do courtesy of two Mazdas and an MR2. T'was a difficult snatch!

Sun was spent at Woodcote with a great and very supportive crew. We did get something to do when one of the F3's stopped on the grid, but at least it was a nice and simple affair.

As for waving from a single seater, then in fairness it must be difficult on tight corners. They have heavy steering at low speed and the cockpits are tight. Doesn't excuse attempting it at other places though.

Caterhams aka Formula Fords for the over forties !!!

They couldn't wave either, but that was because they were all too busy playing with their hooters !!!

F4 cockpit sides - not as tight as F1, but they still manage to get their hands outside their cockpits, even if it's only to 'give the finger'.

Caterhams have there wrists tethered to the seat belts so if the car rolls there arms are not thrown outside the cage hence the reason they flash there lights and sound horns.

I didn't know that. Every day you don't learn something new is a wasted day !!
