Congratulations to all the race winners, championship winners and the others that have earned auto-entries. With expanded hypercar and a burgeoning GT3 class, I'm looking forward to next year already.

One small find, Jota Porsche with the lowest maximum speed among all Porsches:
http://fiawec.alkamelsystems.com/Res...e_Hour%208.PDF
Clearly this setup worked in terms of laptime but made overtaking difficult.

They, and Proton, had the opposite approach in Fuji! They seem to know what to do at each circuit better than Penske.

And this means Penske need to step up their game in 2024 obviously. Jota already showed this car is capable of more than Penske can extract out of it.

Always interesting to see the names on the rookie test. Morning session results.

Is Rossi physically unable to climb into a car that doesn't have 46 on the side?

I assume it's an image rights/contract stipulation? But yes, VR46 has been the brand since the latter years in MotoGP and it is clearly important to him.

Ultimate fastest lap, but more importantly the no.8 really had it when you look at the top 200 laps. Jota got close for the Top 50 and Top 100, but was more inconsistent over the race - as we saw. Toyota could manage it a little too.

I find it not correct that he may have different colors on car number and car number background and other people can not do that.

If rules says number must be in red background or blue background then also for Mr Rossi.
Otherwise unfair!

I think found rules here: https://www.fiawec.com/en/classes/32

Is no problem he race with number 46 if he want but can not take different colours just because he is Mr. Rossi!

Its a test for goodness sake, no body cares apart from people who seem ti dislike the man, who have probably no idea about the sort of guy he is, and what he has achieved and the immense following he has still even now.

It doesn't matter, its a bloody number, please get worked up about something useful

No reason to be mean to me!

He got that in SRO racing too for the last 2 seasons.
So who knows?

It does not matter the sort of guy he is or what he has achieved or the immense following he has still.
The rules should be same for everybody.

Even stupid things like car number or number backgrounds.

That is my opnion!

In this specific instance, there is a serious point to be made.

Number colours should form an important part of technical and safety regulations. That Rossi has an exemption for this wherever he goes shows some powerful lobbying on his part, or those regulations are not as important as stated.

Given Rossi's unique position, I doubt much of a fuss will be raised. But to head off future issues, it should be - what happens when someone else wants to do it, they are told no, and they point to the glow-yellow 46?

Yes Toyota was quick to point out other's mistakes without acknowledging it happens to them too. Not like it was an AM driver, it is the fault of the rules and cold hard tires perhaps? But you would also think by the last race of season drivers would understand limitations. More of the same quotes here

Rossi 46 in this year’s Road to Le Mans races had black number on white background so does play by the rules

For testing and for WEC hitting a wider/new audience the odd colour not too much of a problem - could have got a 5 min stop and go photo opportunity/penalty.

Some of the others broke rules by only having 1 driver listed for LMP 2 car!!!!!

Not a bad end to the season. Toyota winning again and great result for the Iron Dames. This season has seen so much, let's hope 2024 is at least half as good.
