Redblurr should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Formula One's controversial new qualifying format will not be changed for at least the next two races. ...A spokesman for F1's governing body, the FIA, said it was "too early" to make changes, and that it would be looked at after the first three races.

I'm not for two sessions. To me the first session will always be meaningless. The first session last year was meaningless to me. Yes, it determined the Saturday order, and yes you saw some low fuel runs. But qualifying should always be about determining the order for the RACE. End of story. Go back to the one hour Saturday session with a limited number of laps per car. At the end of the session they need to fuel for the race and go to parc ferm. The only reason Friday is boring this year is because of the one-engine rule. Teams are running limited laps and preserving the car.

If you HAVE to have a friday session, then go back to last year's format, but combine the friday and saturday times. The lowest two-lap total gets the pole. Friday needs to count for more than just Saturday order if you are going to have a Friday session.

There's loads of solutions really. Quals on Friday with heat races on Saturday would be interesting.

Off topic too Adam, but... it won't work. They could transform the test sessions into real races. But someone has to sponsor those non-championship races, at least to cover the costs, but noone would be willing to do it. Besides, they want to limit the costs by cutting the tests, well, I'm kinda sure they will NOT make any money by encouraging them..

Too much discussion about something that likely will not change a lot. You can expect two sessions in Saturday (morning and after) but nothing really radical.
