1) Robert Bell
2) Jamie Green
3) Danny Watts
4) Mark McLoughlin
5) Will Davison

You bugger! I was going to go for 1:10.6, I'll go for 1:10.700 instead.
Top 16 covered by a second.
I think you're right, this could be a cracker, as there's another 5 drivers at least who could end up in that top five.

Last months qualifying was Bell Davison Watts Lloyd McGloughlin - in cloudy/dry weather - weather looks set to be similar this weekend ... my guess is:

Bell
Green
Lloyd
Watts
McGloughlin

although Robert Bell seems a little out of sorts and off the pace at the moment, I think he may bounce back here

pole = 1:11.231

top 17 within one second

top 16 were within a second, pole time of 1.11.576.
paul got the top 16, and unfortunately, susie didn't make it with a second.

good to see alex kapadia back, and a strangely slow performance by mark mcloughlin.

see everyone there tomorrow....

The team and Renaultsport have checked McLoughlin's engine and it's shown to have lost a little bit of its edge so it's being changed for tomorrow's race.

Hamilton: sensational. No other word. And I am over the moon to see Manor back at the front, particularly with a 1-2. Wonder what Long must thinking now he's switched to Fortec ...

Green again quicker than Watts and Davison and Turkington outpacing Bell.

Should be a good 'un.

Stoddart: got wedged behind Ben Reeves when tyres should have been at their best. She should perhaps have backed off and got herself some track space. A shame as up until that point she was on for a top 12. Grrr.

Paul Rayner, (borrowing BAR Babe's computer):

That's what Pat said. The Manor split was amicable, it certainly isn't the first time management or sponsors have made a decision about where a driver goes.

Seems like not being honest with yourself. If Pat was by far the best Manor qualifier and racer and still not breaking the sharp end of the grid I could understand him moving to another team but...

That's woken a few people up!! Manor have finally found whatever was missing, and Lewis and to a lesser extent Griffin made the most of it for sure. Fortec are right up there as well, but all the Motaworld cars (having had all 4 cars in the top 6 last month) were off the pace on new tyres. Very perplexing, particularly as Lloyd and Davison were the quickest in the morning test session on old tyres, before everyone came in for a tyre change. McLoughlin was equally perplexed, putting the effort into a banzai lap (which he does so well, incidentally) and finding himself nearly 9/10ths off Hamilton's time. Funny old track.

P.S. The best part about a perplexing (for which read cr*p) weekend for us was Keith, who lightened my burden mentally whilst increasing it physically, by an amount equal to a crate of Stella

Well done to Jonny Apex, whose prediction that Lewis Hamilton would wipe the floor with everyone turned out to be true. Well done to me for getting the top 16 within a second in qualifying right but behind Hamilton, the next 23 cars were covered by a second. Wow. The most competitive single-seater championship around? You betcha.

To the scores...

Jonny Apex 5
Paul Rayner/bella/Mackmot 4
Tallie/pb btcc/Mr Jinxx 3
MrTTRaces/kbudden 2

Next we're onto Snetterton next Monday, for official testing ahead of the Brands race. The championship is really hotting up. Think I've got my guess for victory there...
