Paul Morris taking legal action against Paul Dumbrell

In this weeks Auto Action it has been reported that Paul Morris's team has issued a legal letter of demand for $100000.00 to Paul Dumbrell for the incident at the GAP support race. I still can't believe this.

Maybe Glenn Seton could now sue Morris for knocking him out of a potential race winning position at Bathurst in 2000.

If Paul Morris and his team don't like racing then maybe they should go and fly kites

I have never like Paul Morris & now I can't stand him... Want a complete D*@#head.... Racing is racing, & should stay that way... Maybe Glenn Seton can sue Paul for the time Paul smashed Niel Crompton into the wall at the AGP back in the FTR days. That had the same sort of damage to Neil's car as what happened to Paul's car this year at AGP....

I still can't get other this. What does Paul think he is doing..... Mate, go back to the BWM's we don't want you in V8's

This is probably one of those letter's I should have written & deleted... But I just can't bring myself to do that..

Right next to that article in AA was one re a letter from John Mclean ( father of Cam ) from Briggs Motorsport to CASTROL ( No not Larrys Team - To the MAJOR sponsor) re an incident with Canto at Adelaide or AGP also involving Dumbrell.

I think its all getting a bit silly

I would think Briggs would be more concerned with keeping his own sponsors rather than writing letters to the sponsors of other teams.

Maybe Morris's Daddy is getting a bit ****ed off with paying the bills to rebuild cars that his son has damaged

Accidents happen, thats the risk you take when you race.

Yes Dumbrell made a big mistake at the GP, but i don't think court action is necessary.

what was interesting, was, although Dumbrell did make a bit of a silly mistake, Morris and his dad (hang on.....thats also Morris) were the first to say, "well, its a racing accident, if you are in the sport, you have got to expect these things"

but now...

Who cares. Legal action about on-track events is ridiculous. Paul Morris play a less expensive sport, I hear chess is cheap.
I felt sorry for him, but not to the tune of a $100 000 lawsuit. Big thumbs down to Morris & Co.

I agree. I run a low budget Improved Production car and a major accident would mean the end of racing for me for at least probably 12 months... but hey, that's racing. If you're not prepared to get out there and mix it don't show up...

If i wanted to have 24/7 insurance cover i'd buy a new car and drive it on the street...

Cheers,
Paul...

I guess this is the V8 Supercar version of a tearfull little boy crying "I'm gonna tell my Daddy on you..."

Paul, either go and play in the Nations Cup where most of the other rich wannabe racers with not a great deal of talent go or get Daddy to buy another motor racing series for you like the last Super Touring crown you "won".

If Morris is successful it means every driver would need insurance against this sort of lawsuit. Motor racing is an expensive business without this sort of rubbish. There is a gentlemans agreement "you drive u bend u mend" no matter who's fault. This would be the end of the sport. No one could afford to insure themselves against this sort of risk. Its a dangerous precedent.

Everyone know's a shunt like that hurts but hey you want to play with the big boys thats the costs! Don't sue. They don't even do that in th US where you can sue anyone for anything!

Would it interest you to learn that major damage such as this is insured against at PHR??

The excess is pretty high, somehting like $8k, but against a $100k hit its chicken feed. Not sure what it does to the no claim bonus.

Its one rich kid fighting another, fighting over a week's allowance. If their franchise goes west because of it, it kills a few birds with one stone

You go motor racing, you take the risk of a big prang. That's the way it is. **** happens - and it happens all the time in motorsport.

There has been a couple of cases over the years of one driver suing another driver to recover damages.

There was an instance at Warwick Farm in the 1960s where a car spun and hit a car parked at the pit counter (in the days before pitwalls) and the owner of the parked car sued and won.

Be carefull, be very very carefull!

Let's all email him at stacey@nemoracing.com.au and tell him to stick his pansy-arsed flower helmet where the sun don't shine and take up lawn bowls.

I'd be asking Morris for a written quote and if he could give one I would say I want to send it to my panel beaters

Next thing Mr Alonso will be suing Mr Webber for leaving his wheel on the track in Brazil.Only winners in drivers suing each other will be the lawyers.

Bucky thats a huge bit ruff. Wannabe racers, I dont agree at all, Pretty, BROCK, Bowe, Stokell, Crick, Simosen, Richards. Come on play fair.
I really like Paul Morris, and different to popular beliefs he is a great racing driver that deserves more admiration, yes he is misguided in the latest court case thing, as the phrase goes 'Sh*T happens', you cant help it, and he must move on. However attacking is driving ability is also misguided.

That's wwhy I said most of them go to NC. NC only really has at the most 5 decent drivers - the rest are just pretending.
