Not really anymore. I still don't really like Zandvoort (which is really the track i've been loathing in recent months)
Ayse's right, getting some good Monster Rank times at Mosport really helps your enjoyment, as it offers you a really good chance to suss the lines. Plus relaxiing and not being so edgy about falling off really helped, and now i'm much happier about the place. |

If you could forget all that and go back to being slow again it'd be really useful thanks!

Just did a few practice laps of Mosport in the Lotus.
I couldn't quite get negative after going round the place lap after lap in preparation for the season 1 race. 5 laps out and I got my negative. 1m22.66 |

Cheers p.
Also earlier I tried another run at the 'Ring. I got an 8:39, but I had two costly spins, so I reckon I was on for 8:30 if I'd have had a clear run. They were those annoying spins too, the ones where, you just clip the grass by about a centimetre. |

well, a single spin at the ring can cost you as much as 6 or 7 seconds, so you may well have got into the mid 8m20s with that...

to paraphrase Kelis: I hate mosport so much right now.
hate it hate it hate it I've just spent half an hour at the place, and I don't think I've ever been more frustrated with GPL. It really was that bad. Just one lap in the 23s and none less than that, spinning off every other corner, never feeling at one with the car. Tried out different set-ups, different lines into corners, everything. arrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Stop! Stop right there! That is exactly why i used to hate Mosport so much. The solution was to stopping pushing so hard and just relax and flow smoothly around the track (its all in the hips, its all in the hips...) When i did that i went so much faster. |

I can't see my hips - my stomach gets in the way.......
I knew there must be a reason why I'm slow...... |

Mosport is a weird one. No matter what I do to the setup I can't seem to get rid of the understeer which is more than I would like. I use GH2 setups as a base and adjust them to my personal taste.
Despite that I still went negative, so it can't be all bad. I don't know if anyone else gets a bucket-load of understeer, perhaps it's just the nature of the circuit. Last edited by Spudgun; 7 Feb 2004 at 02:39. |

No understeer for me:confused:
I used to though, maybe it's just the way i drove then compared to how i drive now... In fact the car feels surpisingly neutral to me these days. The only corner i get any understeer is 5a. |

Just had another go at the 'Ring.
I managed to get a clean lap without any spins and got 8m27. I think I can go faster as I was being a little cautious in places where I'm normally prone to making a mistake. I'm just a whisker away from moving over to the Dark Side! |
