Thruxton August 3rd
Anyone else going to the Austin Healey festival at Thruxton this weekend. Timetable from www.barc.net
Adult admission Saturday August 3rd: £10.00 at the Gate, or £8.00 if purchased in advance Child admission (15 and under, accompanied by an adult) Free of charge Transfer into the Paddock areas, £4.00 at the gate or if purchased in advance. Grandstand seats £5.00 extra for each seat The Circuit gates will open at 0800 hours on Saturday August 7th Practice starts at 0900. The timetable is as follows :- 0900 - 0915 Sprites 0925 - 0940 Healey Driver International 0950 - 1005 TR Register 1015 - 1030 Austin Healey Club 1040 - 1055 Aston Martin 1105 - 1120 Thoroughbred Sportscars 1130 - 1145 Dual Driver # 1 1155 - 1210 Dual Driver # 2 Racing starts at 1225 :- Race 1, Donald Healey Memorial 50th Anniversary Austin Healey Sprite Race, sponsored by Initial Style Conferences, 30 minutes plus 1 lap Lunch break - 1300 to 1345, including the Healey 100S Parade and Photo Shoot Racing re-starts at 1400 :- Race 2, David Hardy Memorial 50th Anniversary HDI Race, sponsored by Rawles Motor Sport, 30 minutes plus 1 lap Race 3, Cambridge Motorsport TR Register / TSCC Championship Race, 12 laps Race 4, Austin Healey Club Championship, sponsored by Hardy Engineering, 12 laps Race 5, AMOC - Aston Martin Championship, 12 laps Race 6, Moss Thoroughbred Sports Car Championship, 12 laps Race 7, Pre-1971 Invitation Two-Driver Sports Car Race, sponsored by Royal & Sun Alliance, 40 minutes plus 1 lap Races 3 to 7 will start as soon as possible after the preceding event. |

Sheisse, Ive gotta go to Silverstone that afternoon... shame, should be a good meeting - I had a summer job working in an old peoples home in cornwall when I was a kid and Donald moved in - unfortunately he died a couple of weeks later! His family had a cider farm near Perranporth as I recall.

Lots of full grids of classic sportscars. The most Healey's ever seen. However, the event was overshaddowed by a huge accident in the European Healey Race......
No news about the driver's condition as yet. |
