What's going on? How come Slight quit? Why would West go to AMA Superbikes? He came sixth last year in the 250 GP Championship. Not no money no ride! None of this really makes much sense.

Expect to hear an announcement soon regarding Slight's move to Touring cars, most probably BTCC.
The move to AMA would only have been good for him if he was at the front of the pack, He saw the writing on the wall and bailed. A sad end to a career that I have enjoyed following since the '80s. Surely the best SuperBike pilot not to take the title. |

I've heard that Slight quit after seeing Scott Russell's crash at Daytona, that it made him change his mind about whether he wanted to race there. I don't think Aaron himself was quoted about this, but it might be a reason.
