Bentley Drivers Club 60th Anniversary Meeting Silverstone 8/9 Aug 2009

Initial details are here, but it seems there'll be a lot to attract historic racers for the BDC's first two day event.

It looks like a great meeting - maybe the Classic have shot themselves in the foot with the in fighting and allowed this to capture the spirit of what is now wanted.

Shame it clashes with the Oldtimer GP at the Ring.

Always one of the more relaxed meetings, one I used to do every year. There was one occaision where a bunch of us were sitting having a coffee and chatting when one of the party asked when he was due out for qualie,we then realised that he had missed it so went up to race control to explain just to be met with "Oh no problem, you can go out in the next one".!

Sadly I was mistaken, there's nothing open to my car so I'll just have to keep working that weekend.

Peter, there is the Allcomers race. Very entertaining with such a varied grid.

I liked the Bentley Drivers Magazine write up for our race there last year. It went along the lines of "There was a full grid of cars for this race, none of them were Bentleys". I can't complain though as I did have a picture of my car in there.

I was testing at Silverstone the day before this meeting and there were some spectacular cars including 2 racing Mulsannes - one of teh most eccentric race cars I have ever seen - they were still auto boxed cars!!

Hope to be there with the AMOC 50s Sports Car Series. Should be a fun race programme.
