Skope Classic, Christchurch NZ - 5-7 Feb 2016

Hi guys,

As many of you will know, there is a reasonably good number of Group A & Super Touring cars in the South Island of New Zealand and there has been a lot of work going on over the past few years to encourage them out from under their dust covers in sheds and onto the race tracks.

Last weekend saw 30 entries at the Skope Classic meeting, which also featured guest drivers Jim Richards, Tony Longhurst and Gianfranco Brancatelli back in their old cars. Colin Bond also flew over for the event.

For someone like me who grew up watching these legends of motorsport battling it out on the Wellington Street circuit and at Bathurst, it was a real privilege being able to race with them.

(although being the last race of the weekend it was a diminished field due to some unfortunate mechanical failures).

The plan is to go even bigger and better same time next year
