Not interested in the Winston? I'll be going, I'm hoping it's as neat in person as it looks on TV. BTW...Tim & Joe...I'll be gone next Thursday through the following Monday.

If it's not part of the championship it's just not as alluring to me. I'll probably still watch it, cause it's better then nothing. But it just doesn't get my blood rushing the way a Cup race does.

How can you not be interested in 'The Winston'?

Its one of the best events of the year.

The biggest thing that I don't like about this year's format for the Winston is that only 10 cars will be in the last segment.
I think they have made a big mistake in changing to this format, it just won't be as exciting with just 10 cars out there !!!
C'mon, on a 1 1/2 mile track and just 10 cars racing,
Gimme Me a BREAK !!! JMO

Maybe it won't be as exciting as in the past, but I think it will be like a dash for cash at a local track...so who knows? Can't be any worse than 15 cars on 2 1/2 mile track with no one passing (Bud Shootout). Was at the Shootout last year (2001) and the only exciting lap was the last one.

Yeah hakki, I think they changed it because of the record number of drivers & cars that already qualified for the Winston this year. After the 1st segment, only the top 20 cars will go on to the 2nd segement...and after the 2nd segmant, only the top 10 cars will make it to the final segment.

I'm going to be a stickler for accuracy because it rubs me the wrong way when people act like Winston Cup is all there is in NASCAR. You did not have to go 3 weeks without NASCAR. The Busch Series, which is NASCAR, raced at New Hampshire this past weekend and will race at Nazareth this next weekend AND the Truck Series, which is also NASCAR, is racing at Pikes Peak this next weekend.

From what I understand, they don't broadcast every Busch race in the Great White North and none of the CTS races. (Especially if it interfers with the Leafs/Senators series)

I like Busch and Truck races too, as well as F1, CART, Motorcycles, Dragsters, Boat races, Bicycle races, and just about anything you can race in. But it's just not the same as Winston Cup.
