Nice shot Elio, now if the marker posts had been there as per when the cars were in period there would have been more than a few knocked over
Did anybody else see the Morgan incident in the last race? It appeared to me that a Morgan driver saw fit to pull over at the top of Paddock Bend, on the hard standing but still in direct approach to a 90mph corner and get the marshalls to leave their post and put themselves in danger TO FASTEN HIS BONNET STRAPS. Now I may be wrong as I viewed the incident from the foot of Paddock but if that was the case, I hope the authorities came down very hard. Racing is dangerous enough with negligence making it more so. |

Only 10 car grid in the over 2l pre-66 saloons seems a bit dire? Will Monday's grid be any better?
What happened to Roger's Bizza? |

Left home at six this morning,10 past seven I thought it a good idea to see if Iain was up,and got the kettle boiling,he was and bee ing warned that I would be with him by 20 past etc. Not only did I get Eddys Tea but also a very tasty Bacon Bap cooked to perfection by that well know Chef,Alan Morgan.Moto is that you need to phone in your order before you arrive Eddy.
From my vantage point, there was some very good racing going on,one or two incidents requiring the S/C to be deployed, the worst being the 904 going off after Stirlings.Sad to see the amount of damage but the main thing being that the Driver was OK.We were kept busy with the World Sportscar Masters, being kept out whilst the Porsche was ably dealt with, but what a fantastic grid, several good scraps taking place during the race. Great to see that Simon H is getting the Pantera sorted, how soon before it becomes a front runner? Also Mr Drabble with his lovely Turner, how fortunate to have obtained that model Simon!.Mike Bell's Escort seemed to be getting some pretty decent laps in and not forgetting the Pole set by Dave Divine in Michael Pearsons LC,shame about the engine Michael, good while it lasted though, very good effort!Sorry we didn't get to chat Roger, just a little busy, but the machinery [most] seemed to be going well! Got a day off tomorrow but I hope these threatened storms do not rear thier ugly heads and the weather stays as good as it was today!! |

Ah, good idea. Will phone my order in for Spa early enough.
Shame I couldn't be at Brands this weekend, must have been a great event. |

Although I was only there for the two days Eddy,it was a very good event.Mostly very good grid's with some very good scraps going on.[Not Bacon scraps by the way] Delta makes a pretty good cuppa as well, shame you missed out on an excellent weekend.

just wondering does anyone know how Jean pierre Druguet is doing after his nasty Gentlemen driver Incident? Hope he is OK. I was at paddock hill bend at the time and it looked very nasty.

I don't know any details, but Delta told me that Jean Pierre Druguet was ok after rolling his Elan.

Was that number 116 in the last race? I was up at Druids so didn't see the accident, only the leftovers and the ambulances at the scene.
Hope he's ok! |

I hope that Jean Pierre incident has not put off the European contingent from making the journey to Brands, they really do add value to the entry.
I thought the 2 Dutch Porsche 911 were excellent, sideways through Paddock for the entire 2 hour race. I think congratulations are due to the marshals that were first on scene to J P,s totally destroyed Elan. Although they arrived with only one fire extinguisher they got the fire under control even though it kept restarting. A second extinguisher followed then aided by the full incident crew. It was only as he events were unfolding it became apparent just how few marshals there were at the foot of Paddock for this major meeting. Well done guys |

Overall this sounds like a successful and entertaining event. It would be nice to get some race reports to go with the pics. Also what was the spectator attendance like? I noticed on one picture that there were cars parked on the South Bank.

I totally agree. Fantastic job by the marshals. They were there putting the fire out and checking the driver no more than about 10 seconds after the accident.

In fact Peter, there were decent crowds at every major spectator point around the circuit. As you noticed, the South Bank had car's parked from one end to the other, reasonable amount of people in the Pit straight grandstand, not Touring Car levels but certainly fairly well attended. Those that did come along were treated to some excellent machinery and some pretty decent racing.
Although I did not attend yesterday, from the above reports of the Elan incident, just another feather in the Marshal's cap's.There were a few other incidents during the weekend, all of which were very ably dealt with, testament to the dedication of all of our Marshal's.Well done to all involved in the whole weekend. |

Or the red sweaty unshaven mass that was knackered from hiking round the GP loop... Well done to the marshals as mentioned at 4a and those that supported them. I know all 3 who were on first on the scene and you couldn't get nicer guys so well done chaps. JB |

I had a nightmare weekend with the Galaxie.Turns out there's an internal prob with the camshaft so its back to the engine builder.Everyone was just so helpful from John Gee letting me have a run out Monday morning "thanks again John" too all the marshals who helped push the stricken car but kept my spirits up with a lot great banter "thanks again".I was parked way down the bottom of the paddock but had a constant flow of well wishers hoping to see the Galaxie run properly.Me and Jim had a better time in the Lotus 17 with a class win and P16 overall in Gentleman Drivers. Great Fun.Thought Roger drove well,Simon H brilliant as usual although needs a hair cut and a shave. Thanks for your help Terrance and Simon D i keep giving you the thumbs up but you seem to have a blank look on your face.Thought the Masters team did well although Ive now been banned from the Masters tent as mechanics are not aloud to have lunch in there any more.

Iain I waved back at you each time!! I couldn't believe it when I saw you being towed passed the bus for the second time!!!
We had a wonderfully uneventful weekend - my co driver got two signatures and we both had a laugh driving it - never going to win a race in it but we both have a grin from ear to ear in it as its skinny tyres offer little or no grip! Need to get it on a rolling road as it does seem to be under performing. Saturday was very enjoyable - is Top Hat FIA? I only ask because the Anglia was doing so well relative to what I would expect, looked great as well. Masters put on a great day for us and many thanks to the Masters Team for letting us do the second race.... it was much appreciated |
