darn fine looking car. As with all race cars, carbon fiber body, not sheet metal as in the street car

Looks great, though I'm sure any potential GT1 or GT versions would end up being about six inches taller!

What engine was used ?
A VK45DE like (8 cil normal aspired) or a VQ30DETT like (6 cil bi-turbo) ? The 2007 Nismo's car are using the VK45DE while the other teams used the turbo engine. There should be only 2 GT-R in 2008 due the technical changes in SuperGT2009, so one of IMPUL and HASEMI can get the 2007 V8 engine |

True, but if such different looking roadcars can look so close in GT500 form, IMO, that shows a flaw in the regs. I'd prefare more production oriented looks for what is a GT class. The 430GTC and 911RSR are complete opposites, but evenly matched, so I don't see why GT500's have to vere so far away from the roadcars form. |

First it was how Speed GT are somehow not "real" racing cars being 4 doors and on DOT tires. Now this GT-R is a little too sleek... What's next no black people in F1? |

Because it still comes down to who spends MORE MONEY where it can't be regulated and hiring the best driver pairing. You know 7 post "shaker" rigs???? and computer simulations. If COT cars can be pretty much SPOT ON without touching the track before being loaded off the truck, just how much live testing do you need anymore???? It also shows that in certain markets, world views are less important than local views regarding racing. JGTC is a bit contrived in reality, but does have factory participation from the Japanese BIG 3 (Toyota, Nissan and Honda) and while they don't have to give up their participation in GT500/GT300 to run in the JLMS for example, it does mean spending more money and with the Big 3 pushing to overtake OUR Big Three in the States, I doubt they'll want to spend money at home than they have too, they don't have much outside market competition. |

Ok so NASCAR is like racing slot cars? What camber rating does Fontana need compaired to 'dega or Martinsville? Why do some teams have to put in or take out wedge? What is the difference between running in 60*F night air vs 100*F air on July 4th mid day? How does Good Years four or five differnt rubber compounds work on each track? The more cars are the same the more LIVE testing there needs to be. Plus live testing is also a perfect place to keep sponsors and sponsors guests up close and pesonal with the cars and teams. |

Wowww, really nice and agressive looking car!
IMO,all the JGTC cars look great. Even the Porsche 911's that run in GT300 look far more agressive than their LM,ALMS and LMS counterparts. I don't know exactly what it is with these japanese designers but they allways seem to make their cars look just a bit more sexy then the average european GT's. The striking livery's,the neat wheels... I think GT racing in Europe and the US can learn a lot from this very popular and spectacular series. And then there's the diversity of the field, absolutly breathtaking! I'd REALLY love to go and witness one of these races in the flesh. @Lusitano, "It looks like a super rice-burner, I say. hehehehe" uhu... I'd prefer this "riceburner" over a NASCAR any day. |

the car is V8 powered look at the curved duct that is above the front tow hook. its the same as the V8 Z's are running this year. That wasnt used in any of the turbo cars Skyline or Z. It appeared with the new V8

Damn nice sexy looking car. Hope it will win, like in 2003 with the Skyline. Skyline ass with a 350Z front, nice thought. Last edited by kingkai; 3 Nov 2007 at 22:36. |

Great looking car!!!
I've never actually seen a Super GT race but if all the cars are as good looking as this and the racing is close, I don't see a problem with the technical regs. |
