Ratel in BGT Takeover?

I see today in Motorsport News Stephane Ratel is in discussions to take over the running of BGT/F3. The aim is to emulate the succes of French GTs.

I guess Ratel sees BGTs as the ideal learning ground for potential FIAGT/LMES teams. Afterall the likes of Rollcentre, Veloqux, PK Sport etc. have all graduated to the international arena very successfully.

This would be a good thing for the British GT Championship. Ratel is the kind of person the series needs, lets hope he gets the postion and boosts the series reputation once again.

JAG, Ratel is not taking over the BGT's, the way you have he will be running it. The way I read it is that SRO will be taking over the Commercial & Promotional side of BGT's

Is this French GT serie really a succes? I mean (in spite of serveral French 10- Tenths members) this serie isn't mentioned much on this forum.

I think it´s, unless you can look its grids. It´s for me the best national series in Europe.

Having an organisation, whoever it is, actively promoting the BF3/BGT package has to be an improvement on the current situation where the owner of the "commercial & promotional" right are doing absolutly nothing to promote the series, indeed it could be said that bmp/Octagon have actually worked against the series, possibly because it is a more attractive product than the btcc product that it owns.
