No good news for the GT3; Italian Magazine SportAutoMoto says there are many problems with the performance balance; the Viper is too fast (like a GT2!!!) and the other cars like Maserati (and F430...) will not be competitive.
Also Viper and Aston Martin are too expensive and to "prepared" cars compared with the others.
Without Maserati and other cars the GT3 is over before start ! :-(

Performance adjustments were the reason these tests were carried out, so I see no reason why the FIA won't be making a stab at equalizing these cars. Saying the championship will be over before it starts is blatant sensationalizm.

Take a look at Speed World Challenge here in North America for evidence that, as long as one isn't allergic to performance adjustments to maintain competition, parity between diverse "inherent" performances can be achieved. Since this type of parity was one of the founding intentions of the GT3 championship I think we can hope for an equal-ish field for the first round.

They already have lots of experience with parity adujstments and Maserati!

Regarding the Lotus - does anyone know which is the price for this machines?
Are they on a level with the Porsche or more with the Ascari?

According to Autosport the Lotus and Nissan GT3 cars attended the performance balencing tests last year but could not be made truely competitive.

But the newer Cadena chassis, which were much more developed than the original factory development car, were certainly competitive with Damax/Barwell in the Brit GT races on tracks that favoured that type of handling/power balance.
