hmmm, missing a decimal point (1.5m here http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/spo...-1225966007656)

Seems odd that they would get that far down the marketing track without something concrete.

Here's an Idea

Pepsi could recoup costs by 'gradually' releasing them on e-bay as 'collectors items'

That is what I was supposed to put, but what is 13.5 million can, nothing.

Wouldn't you get better leverage by taking them to V8 Supercar rounds for Ford fans to play "Crush the Courtney" now that he has changed camps?

For 50 cents a can, you could raise a nice sum of money for the McGrath Foundation.

Wouldn't FPR & Pepsi have been better off waiting until everything was signed, sealed & delivered before undertaking this sort of marketing? If this is true then someone will have some explaining to do

That would be a very clever PR stunt.

Probably. But then again, with production lead times required, maybe they wanted everything ready for a pre-Xmas launch. Who knows what their time frame was.

Why did Charlie need to buy the Number 10 REC. Why couldn't he just use the 18 REC that he is now leasing back to DJR.

Cheers for the support. Let's hope Andrew Condon has been reading 10-10ths, and that the McGrath team jump to action.

It ticks the V8 carbon rules too as you are recycling what is simply now a waste product.

Charlie might buy 100,000 or so to squish with the hoist fleet too

Didn't VESA buy REC #10 not Charlie S?

Given that DJR is going ahead next year with both of is franchises intact (even if leased) is Courtney actually contracturally free to leave DJR and join HRT?

Be funny if the breach of contract fee might pay for the lease of REC #18 :P

Also isn't that the second time in three years FPR have failed to get Courtney into the team? Perhaps their negotiation skills need some work, escpeicially since Courtney has supposedly signed on to join up with only the seventh best team in the series.

Yes they did, which allegedly was the instigator of the whole implosion that was JC to FPR, as this deal was hinging on Charlie obtaining the #10 REC to run JC. HOWEVER, that still doesn't explain the question BlueMax is asking, and why i believe not is all as it smells, and a certain fat lady has not yet commenced singing

My guess that the reason for the 18 REC not going to FPR was that DJR needed it to keep the Jim Beam money. So going to one car was never an option for Dick, the split was only agreed to on the proviso that Charlie leased back the REC.

As I understand it, the contract could be broken if management changed, it has therefore JC is free to leave should he chose.

It's still the first time as such, FPR were simply going to be a provider of services/equipment to Charlies team, FPR wern't employing him directly so it's not their negotiating skills.
