Was watching some mid to late 00's races on YouTube the other night. Compared to them grids we must think ourselves very lucky with the talent we have this season.
It's not a bad grid this year in my opinion. There's not really any amateurs, everyone's done a fair bit of racing, mostly on the toca package. |

As a 30 year plus BTCC fan I have to say that this years line up despite being ok, doesn’t excite me much, maybe it’s too much similarity year on year. I don’t doubt the racing will be as good as ever and once the season starts i’ll get right into it again but seeing the British GT grid announced today just brought it home a bit of what, to me, is missing from current BTCC. Top teams with international factory backed drivers, new cars that aren’t silhouettes with body shells and that also sound amazing, and a variety of different events over the years calendar. I know GT has traditionally been seen as a gentleman’s series but with the number of pro drivers now in the field who attack each position like it was a touring car race I would argue that it’s close to being able to claim the title of best domestic series.

Given Dynamics brilliance and a year of the FK8, plus WSR and Speedworks changes I see Dynamics as the squad to beat. However I also see the well proven FK2s at AmD as being up to the job; Butcher is very fast and promising and Tordoff is a big talent if he has his mojo. One of these 4 for me, and I'd like it to be Rory following in Flashs footsteps. Don't see BTC as far up the grid as the other Honda outfits, weaker drivers IMO and lots of car learning. |

Good for them, they had some big improvements with the FK2, they’ve left it a year before getting involved with the FK8 so it’s not a new new car anymore, the teething problems should be ironed out. Good call from them, hope they do well with it.

So Sterling Insurance is the new title sponsor for PMR. Collard will complete a shakedown today at Brands Hatch and proper testing will began next week.
What a mess of a livery though ) https://www.touringcartimes.com/2019...title-sponsor/ |

I quite like it - at least more so the two stripes they stuck on it last year!
Note the complete lack of Honda branding (unless you're in a helicopter!)... How much longer are we going to have Honda as a manufacturer entry? |

Are you overlooking the massive Honda logo on the roof, or the badge on the front grill? |
